Grad student in animal behavior!
Hi! I’m a graduate student in Animal Behavior & Welfare working on my thesis in wildlife detection dogs from home. I’ve worked with dogs & cats for 10 years and have trained dogs for 8, including service dogs through a professional nonprofit organization. I have raised countless puppies in this time, so I can certainly help properly socialize your puppy so they can grow up to be the best version of themself. I also compete in dog sports for fun with my dogs, two working line German shepherds and one husky mix. So I’m well equipped to care for dogs that are… “a lot!” I’m on my way to becoming an Applied Animal Behaviorist and have finished all my coursework in behavior with a 4.0 GPA, so when your pets come with me, they’ll benefit from my extensive knowledge on understanding behavior and maximizing welfare. My prices might be a little higher than others, but I promise it will be worth it for the level of care & expertise I provide!

Natalie is a punctual and professional care provider. This is her field of expertise and she does this to help others and herself as she finishes grad school. She is very perceptive about animals, their stress levels and needs. Attentive and adept at managing all types of behaviors, she is gentle but firm. Super connected to the small animal profession in the area, she is way beyond the typical dog walker and is great trainer as well.

Schedule
I’m home full time as I finish my thesis remotely. The animals I care for come first, whether it be early morning potty breaks or afternoon activities. My schedule is flexible and I have ample time to give your pets the attention they need, while also giving them quiet time to rest in a private space.

Safety, trust & environment
When pets stay with me, they have their own spare bedroom to sleep in. They can have a crate in there, or stay loose in the room and sleep on the bed. We have a small yard, so I opt to take dogs out 4 times a day to potty in a small park right outside my front door. We can play here too! A lot of dogs like to sunbathe in our yard, including my own. I have three dogs who all have different preferences in their dog friends, so it’s likely your dog will find a best friend here. Or, if your dog prefers not to be around other dogs, that’s no problem either. They can hang out with just me! I always use long lines and either harnesses or safely fitted collars to walk dogs, so they can have maximum freedom to express themselves while also staying safe and comfortable.
Pets
A typical day
I tailor all activities to the individual dog! We can go for neighborhood long line walks, play tug or fetch at the park, go hiking at the trail right by my house, or play with my other dogs. If your dog loves a certain activity, just let me know and I’m sure we can make it happen. I go above & beyond, making sure every animal I care for not only has their needs met, but also sleeps soundly because I provide mental stimulation and physical exercise on a daily basis.

- Please let me know if your dog has any medical problems or pain, so that I can be aware of what to look for. Bonus: my partner is finishing up vet school right now, so I have a wealth of knowledge at my fingertips! Please also let me know if your dog has any history of biting, snapping, etc. at people or other animals. I’m happy to take dogs with this kind of history or behavior problems as I’m well versed in behavior & management- I just need to know beforehand so I can set them up for success.
