Loving Veterinary Professional
Very experienced pet care professional- both with pet sitting and in the veterinary field. I've loved animals more than anything for as long as I can remember and knew from a young age that I wanted to work with them. I've been working in veterinary specialty/emergency for the last 21 years. My role in the veterinary field has been a unique one, creating the "doctor's assistant" position in emergency/various specialties. This has left me with a wealth of knowledge in nearly all medical conditions, and in turn I am able to avoid preventable emergencies and care for special needs pets. There has even been instances where I have noticed the early signs of medical conditions before pet parents, guiding them towards next steps in care. I currently work remotely for a veterinary surgeon, which means I have the incredibly rare opportunity in the vet field of being able to spend lots of time at home with your pets. Just as importantly, I have a real knack for calming pets and making them feel comfortable. I have such a huge toolkit from working with animals in such a stressful environment for so long, but I also bring a calm/warm energy and I think they can just tell how much I love them. My best friend jokingly calls me Snow White because I’ll have any pet in a puddle in my lap in no time. So in the end, not only can you rest assured that your pet will be safe while you’re gone, but they’ll certainly get lots of love. As a bonus I've been told I take excellent pet portraits, and you'll always get a big daily batch of cute photos so you can get your fix while you're away without your trip being interrupted too often. Lastly - I don’t take it lightly that our homes are our sanctuary. I feel very honored that people trust me with the lives of their beloved pets and their homes. I will always treat your space as if it were my own and try to make it as refreshed as possible for when you get home.

Safety, trust & environment
Having been in veterinary specialty/emergency for so long, I am well versed on important tools to minimize the risk of accidents- from preventing exposure to food/plants that are toxic to keeping dogs safe on walks. I feel extremely comfortable caring for sick and injured pets as well and know when to make judgement calls for care. I think it's helpful for pets to remain in the comfort of their own home while their parents are away and I am an extremely respectful house guest- keeping the house tidy and helping with any other special tasks like plant care for extended trips.

Naomi was absolutely wonderful with Poster Nutbag and Piper during our four-day weekend away. Her genuine love for animals came through immediately — and the calm, contented state our babies were in when we got home said everything about the quality of care she provided. Attentive, thoughtful, and clearly at ease with both cats and dogs, Naomi made sure our home was in great hands too. We returned to happy pets and a spotless house, which is honestly the dream. We can't recommend her highly enough and are already looking forward to booking her again!
Always a joy to have Naomi watch our pup! She made sure he got in a great hike and some play time despite the heat wave. They always have so much fun together.

We could not have wished for a better dog sitter. Naomi earned our confidence easily with her experience and knowledge of special care dogs (daily meds, anxiety, allergies & arthritis). Our two small pups took to her kind energy immediately and seemed comfortable with her spending the week with them house/dog sitting. Her daily updates were greatly appreciated and we were delighted to discover her amazing pet photography skills. 10/10! A++! We will surely be using her again.

Schedule
I currently work from home, making it easy for me to provide individualized care depending on specific needs. I can take breaks for walks, reliably administer time-sensitive medications, and be around to cuddle as much as possible.
