Pet care experience

experienced dog mom 🐾

I’ve had dogs since I was young and have years of hands-on experience caring for them. I currently have a 30 kg Goldendoodle, Willow, whom I’ve spent the past two years intensively training as my service dog. Through this, I’ve gained lots of experience with obedience, consistency, positive reinforcement, routines, and understanding dog behavior. I’m also very comfortable with larger, energetic dogs and providing plenty of exercise, structure, and, of course, cuddles! 🐾

Schedule

I work from home, so I have a very flexible schedule and am around throughout most of the day. Dogs in my care get plenty of attention, walks, playtime, and cuddles. I normally take Willow on three longer walks and two shorter walks each day, so your dog can easily join our routine. I’m also happy to adjust my schedule to your dog’s usual walking, feeding, and sleeping routine so they feel as comfortable and at home as possible. 🐾

Safety, trust & environment

Your dog’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I always make sure any dog staying with us feels comfortable around her. Since I work from home, dogs are rarely left alone and get plenty of supervision and attention throughout the day. Dogs are treated like part of the family in our home, they’re welcome on the furniture (clean paws permitting!) and can sleep in my bedroom. I follow each owner’s routines and rules closely and will always take the time to help your dog feel safe, relaxed, and at home. And obviously will send pictures throughout the day of your pup; as a dog owner, that’s what I’d want as well!

Pets

A typical day

I work from home full-time, which means your dog will rarely be left alone and can easily become part of my normal daily routine. I usually start the day with a good morning walk, followed by breakfast and some relaxed time at home while I work. Throughout the day, I take several walking and potty breaks, including a longer walk where the dogs can properly stretch their legs, sniff around, and get some energy out. Depending on the dog and what they’re comfortable with, we may also visit the dog park or go for a longer walk around the neighborhood. In the evenings, we go for another walk before settling in at home. Dogs are welcome to hang out with us on the couch, play, or simply relax. Before bed, I always do one final potty break. I’m very happy to adjust this routine to your dog’s normal schedule, including feeding times, walks, medication, training routines, or anything else that helps them feel at home. My goal is for their stay to feel less like “boarding” and more like being part of our household.

Before caring for your dog, I’d love to know a little about their personality and normal routine. Please let me know their feeding and walking schedule, energy level, any medical needs or allergies, and anything that makes them nervous or uncomfortable. It’s especially important for me to know how they behave around other dogs, as I have my own friendly Goldendoodle, Willow, at home. Please also tell me about any separation anxiety, reactivity, resource guarding, excessive barking, or other behaviors I should be aware of. I’d also love to know the little things that make your dog happy; their favorite toys, sleeping habits, commands they know, and what helps them feel safe and comfortable in a new environment. The more I know, the more I can make their stay feel like home!
