I work from home and have a flexible schedule so our guest dogs are rarely left alone, and never for more than an hour or two. I make it a priority to keep their routines as close to what they have at home as possible

Keeping your dog safe is the number one priority! There are several securely fenced areas for outside time annd adjacent fenced areas so dogs can be introduced to each other safely. Everyone is supervised at all times. The house is full of dog beds and cozy spots for chilling, plus dogs are allowed on all the furniture. I also have several sizes of crates for dogs that feel more secure sleeping in an enclosed environment.

A day at the Max Patch Dog Hostel might include fetching balls and frisbees, playing with other guests and/or our dogs, watching chickens and ducks through a fence, getting treats, napping in the sun, napping in the shade, napping on the couch, hanging out with me while I work, tummy rubs, ear scratches and nose boops.

The Max Patch Dog Hostel
Pet care experience
Welcome! I was inspired to become a Rover host by my own experiences trying to find quality dog care. When your dog comes to stay here, he or she is treated like a member of the family (just like my own dog is!) I’m happy to accommodate any and all schedules, sleeping arrangements, dietary needs, or whatever else it takes to make your dog feel right at home. I live in a charming old farmhouse in the country with a large, shady, securely fenced yard. There are fenced areas adjacent to (but separate from) the dog yard with chickens and sheep providing lots of visual stimulation - I call it "doggie TV". I work from home so there is always someone here with the dogs. Ambassador Chico will welcome newcomers into his pack for playtime. Your dogs are welcome to play outside all day, nap inside, or a little of both. I send daily photo updates via text or email if you like. Your dog(s) will enjoy a vacation here! I absolutely love all dogs, but there are a few guidelines in place to ensure everyone's safety since our Rover guests interact closely with my dog and with other guests. First, large breed intact males will always require a meet-and-greet and may not be a good fit. Also it's important that all dogs be up to date on their vaccinations as well as flea and tick preventative before coming. Titer testing in lieu of vaccination will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Please make sure this information is filled out on your profile before sending us your booking request! I am always happy to discuss your unique situation with you beforehand, just get in touch if you have any questions or concerns.
Reviews

Nancy was ABSOLUTELY incredible!! We have a very old, very large dog who has been having trouble with her back hind legs as well as refusing to eat due to a lung infection and urinary Tracy infection. Nancy was able to get our girl to eat small meals throughout the day! She also was able to give her the antibiotics twice daily. And on top of all of that she hand sewed a special vest that she created to help dogs like ours and she gave it to us to test drive! Nancy was also fabulous with our rambunctious puppy, she sent us a bunch of pictures of both girls having so much fun!! We will definitely be using her in the future and recommending her to anyone in need of a sitter!

“Nancy was absolutely amazing with Jimmy! She kept us updated, made sure he was comfortable and happy, and treated him like her own. We could tell Jimmy felt safe and loved the entire time. We’d definitely book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and reliable sitter.”

This was a last minute stay and Nancy was more than accommodating! Lily loves spending time with Nancy and Chico. She was absolutely ecstatic when we pulled up! She knew she was about to have the best time. Nancy truly cares and is invested in our sweet girl- and we know that Lily is in the most loving, caring, capable hands when she’s with Nancy! Thank you for loving and caring for our girl!

We are testing our pup out for overnight stays with other families. Thank you, Nancy, for being so welcoming and caring to Ginger. It was a positive experience all around.
