Safety, trust & environment

Having fostered and rescued dogs for many years, my home is very dog centric. The property sits beside a quiet 15-acre park. It’s a peaceful place with lots of birds and squirrels to watch from the patio. I’m experienced reading dog behavior and adjusting to their comfort level so whether on-leash at the park, resting, playing with me or their enrichment toys, dogs continue to stay within eyesight throughout throughout their visit.

Information Nancy R. would like to know about your pet

Before their stay, I like to have a Meet & Greet at our quiet 15-acre park nextdoor. It gives your dog a chance to meet me in a safe, engaging, and neutral environment. We can discuss your dog's routines, personality, & preferences before we tour my home. We always want our dogs to be & feel safe. I ask that dogs are up to date on their vaccines. I’m experienced in administering medications, oral and injection, and I’m happy to support dogs with stable, well-managed health needs. For new clients, I do ask that medical conditions are clearly outlined in advance, with written instructions and a consistent routine. For more complex or newly diagnosed conditions, I may suggest care with a sitter who specializes in medical cases, so your dog receives the best possible support. Thanks for reading!

A typical day

The day's activities revolve around each dog's interests, inclinations, and exercise habits. Outdoors, we spend lots of time exploring the 15-acre park next door. Indoors, the dogs enjoy a soothing, comfortable place to play, engage with toys, enjoy a lick mat, or rest wherever is most appealing.

One Dog at a Time

Pet care experience

Every day spent in the company of dogs is a perfect day. I offer private, one-dog* boarding with loving & attentive care - a great fit for dogs who enjoy walks, outdoor time, and a quiet place to settle. I care for one dog at a time (*two dogs if from the same home), allowing for lots of attention and a rhythm that best suits them. More than simply a safe place to board your dog, days here are filled with play, fresh air, outdoor exploration & exercise - just as I've always done with my own dogs. Even sensitive or anxious dogs settle in as if they’re on their own little vacation, returning home relaxed, happy, and wonderfully tired. I work part-time from home so dogs always stay within eyesight and enjoy a balance of outdoor activity and quiet downtime, with their safety as my first priority.

Annie (Nancy) was so kind with my senior dachshund. He's almost 20 and needs a lot of handholding. He got lots of love and attention.

Nancy was perfect! I didn’t worry or fret about my dog’s well being and had a stress free night out away! It was our first time being separated over night. He did great, largely, I’m sure because of Nancy ! He will be staying with her again for sure.

STOP SCROLLING! We’ve had numerous sitters for our three (somewhat challenging/unique) dogs over the past decade+, and Annie (Nancy) is easily the best. Beyond being responsive to outreach and thorough with updates, she is unbelievably kind and well-suited for caring for others’ pets. Our dogs adore her, and she is the first sitter with whom I have felt 100% comfortable regarding one of our dog’s special history/needs. Annie is a good listener and a responsible steward—the type of sitter to charge an exceedingly reasonable amount and then show up for extra long visits with her own treats for the pups in hand. She clearly has a true love of animals, and I can’t recommend her highly enough. Do your pets (and your peace of mind) a favor and book Annie!
