Information Nancy P. would like to know about your pet

I can walk most dogs up to 130lbs. For anything above, or for difficult walkers between 110-130lbs, please reach out to discuss. My dog is a 120lb dane mix who can be distractable on a leash, and I've walked multiple dogs with various levels of pulling or "in-progress" leash manners. Respectfully, I do not work with choke collars or e-collars. Please notify me of relevant dog-walking behaviors and make sure your dog's listed weight is accurate for large breeds.

A typical day

My dog is mostly a couch potato - but we love the dog park and nature hikes. For longer hikes I typically have to stick with my human buddies! While away, I prefer to stay away from dog parks to reduce the chance of an unsafe encounter with another animal. I am happy to stick to the neighborhood or nearby trails. I love playing with dogs and am always available for fetch and routine play.

Pet care experience

I have extensive hands-on experience in pet care, ranging from dogs to cats and even exotic animals throughout all stages of their lifetime. I can easily handle basic needs like feeding, walking, and grooming, but I also have experience with administering medications in multiple forms, separation anxiety, elder care, incontinence, and various behavioral and medical conditions. I have an eye for details and will follow care instructions to a "T", providing routine and thorough updates to let you know how your animal is doing throughout care. I have been a foster multiple times and have worked with animals with various behavioral needs and backgrounds. Medical care experience includes cancer, kidney failure, incontinence, allergies, and various skin conditions. My primary and personal experience includes dogs, cats, and rabbits. I also have experience caring for turtles, fish, various rodents, amphibians, insects, and limited experience with reptiles. (Past care history includes: dogs (XS to XL), cats, rabbits, multiple species of turtle, mice, stick bugs, pill bugs, hissing cockroaches, fish, frogs) I do not have extensive experience with birds, snakes, or saltwater fish, but am happy to learn for low-risk animals in this category. For high-risk animals in this category who have high support or medical needs, please seek someone with more familiarity and experience for proper care. If you can teach me, I'd love to learn and bridge any gaps of knowledge to care for your pet as appropriate. I am comfortable handling most animals, reptiles, and insects, with exceptions on a case-by-case basis. I love animals of all kinds, and am happy to care for what others may call "creepy crawlers". :) I am not willing to work with dogs with extensive aggression or bite history. For minor cases including limited resource guarding, extreme shyness, reactivity or fear due to prior abuse or neglect, or other trauma-related cases, please reach out with with clear and transparent detail and we can discuss. Every animal deserves care, and it's vital to ensure it will be a good match on both sides for proper care and safety. A sampling of my care experience: Cats/Dogs/Rabbits: - Topical creams to skin and ear - Oral medication and supplements (Pills, liquids, food mixes) - Subcutaneous fluids (If your pet requires this, I am willing to provide this on a case-by-case basis) - Temperature reading - Minor treatment of cuts, irritations, and scratches Grooming Experience: - Dogs: XS (chihuahua) to XL (Dane mix), short hair, thick undercoats (husky, german shepherd), poodle/doodle hair, nail trims with clipping or dremel - Cats: Short and long hair, nail trims - I will not express glands, however I am happy to bring your animal to your preferred vet or groomer as needed for this service

Nancy is the best dog sitter we have ever had!! She is absolutely wonderful to work with and took amazing care of our dogs at her home while we were gone over the holidays. She is an excellent communicator and sent updates/photos every day. She is so conscientious about making sure she understands the needs of our dogs. She is just FANTASTIC!! Highly recommend.

Nancy gave an incredibly thorough description of her visit with my kitty, which helped me feel at ease being out town! Really grateful for her sensitivity to his needs, as he tends to be shy and nervous around new people. Will definitely book her again!!!
