In order to provide the best care, I would like to know as much as possible about your dog, ie: any fears and/or anxieties, reactivity to other dogs or to people, special needs with regard to water, food, and/or medications, special likes such as playing fetch, your policy on treats, etc.
A typical day
With young and high-energy dogs, I play fetch or chase, as this can provide heavier exercise than walking. If your dog likes dog parks, we can go to a nearby dog park, as this also provides more exercise than a walk.

I have trained and cared for my own dogs, both small and large breeds, all of my life. As a volunteer at animal shelters here in the Bay Area and in Austin, I have learned to manage and adapt to varied—and sometimes difficult—dog personalities, temperaments, and needs. I am also very comfortable with large animals, having owned and trained my own horses for decades. As a retired journalist and journalism professor, I bring trustworthiness, reliability, and excellent communication to animal care. I can provide walks, engaging playtime, comfort for anxious animals, and administration of simple medications. Please note: While I am an expert animal caretaker, I am new to the Rover platform. I am currently offering introductory rates for a limited time while I build my local profile.I
