Treats, snuggles & fun for your pet

Thinking about traveling, but can't take Barkley along? Whether your plans call for an overnighter on Mt. Lemmon or a few weeks abroad, I'll lavish your dog with goodies and pets while keeping them safe and comfortable, in my home or yours. I recently retired from UArizona, and now I focus on what I do best: caring for your pets! Your dog is always my top priority. I'm an experienced volunteer and foster with animal rescues and nonprofits in Tucson, especially working with senior and disabled dogs. I am certified in Pet First Aid and CPR.

Nancy did a wonderful job taking care again of our little senior doggie, Chloe. Nancy's home and yard provide the perfect space for Chloe to go about her daily eats, sleeps and duties:) I feel like Chloe is well attended to and a bit pampered! The pictures are a nice touch. As Chloe is a senior dog, it means a lot that Nancy is on top of her needs.

Absolutely wonderful. We have an older dog which needs a comfortable and quiet setting and Nancy provides that. We are so pleased we will be booking more dates.

Nancy is the best! She took such care of my Ash and he loved spending time with her . She’s loving and keeps me updated with pictures and texts. She even sent Ash home with a few treats! I know he is in the best hands for my next trip out of town . Thank you Nancy, Ashy loves you!

Safety, trust & environment

IN MY HOME: I live in a compact 2-bedroom home in a dog-friendly triplex, well away from the street. There is a small fenced backyard, adjoining my daughter's much larger fenced yard next door. Lots of shade, room for ball playing, kiddie pool, elevated dog bed. I am always present to supervise dogs in the yard. IN YOUR HOME: Naturally, your pet would prefer to stay at home in familiar surroundings whenever possible. When I stay in your home, your privacy will be respected above all. I'll be present in the morning, evening, and overnight with your pet, and during the day as necessary for walks and potty breaks. I will give food, water and medications; bring in the mail; care for your garden or indoor plants; and keep the place as tidy as you left it.

Pets

A typical day

I have a toy box filled with hard and soft toys for my fur kids. Snuffle mats and lickie mats are fun ways to give treats. I make yogurt pupsicles, and we'll splash in the kiddie pool on hot days! In my neighborhood we have some favorite walking places, including Himmel, Pinecrest, and Alvernon parks. In summer, my doggie membership to the Tucson Botanical Gardens lets us enjoy cool early morning walks there. A harness is recommended if your dog is an enthusiastic walker.

Share your dog's preferences regarding play time and food. I'm open to any special needs, and if it's something I have little or no experience with, I'm eager to learn if it can help to make your dog happy! **PLEASE NOTE** I expect your dog to be reasonably well-behaved. That is: housebroken, no severe separation anxiety, and not aggressive/reactive to other pets, including the resident cat. Energy level should be moderate.
