I work part-time for Virginia Tech and I am mostly in the office during the day from 9-2:30ish. For this reason I am no longer taking daycare requests, only doggies that need overnight care. However, I am extremely flexible and can adjust last-minute if needed.

My two boys are 8 and 12 and we all love dogs - especially new friends that come to visit us! We live in a great Blacksburg neighborhood on a dead-end street adjacent to a community green space, woodsy walking trails and the Huckleberry Trail. We have a spayed terrier pit mix named DeeDee who is 10-years-old and extremely calm and loving (She doesn't even bark! Unless she is dreaming about squirrels.) Most people that encounter her say she is the "best dog ever." At least time in her life she mostly likes her me-time. We have a fenced-in yard for plenty of sniffing, running and sunbathing. My car is dog-friendly (DeeDee is usually riding shotgun) and I am comfortable using a crate. I am also familiar with both dog parks in town and have no problem visiting them.

It would be nice to know where your dog likes to sleep: in bed snuggled up next to a human, or stretched out in their own space. Also, any potty preferences (ie, only goes when on a walk) or problems and special food preparation. Basically, just the usual stuff.
A typical day
We live in a great Blacksburg neighborhood on a very quiet dead-end street. A community garden and wooded walking trails are right outside our door. And the Huckleberry Trail is very nearby. Our dog DeeDee sadly doesn't fetch, but we have watched dogs that do, so we LOVE that. We also love to hike, so visits to Pandapas Pond are enjoyed.

Pet care experience
I have been around dogs since I was born. Growing up we always had a least two dogs and a cat or two. My mom simply opened my bedroom door and sent the dogs in as the "alarm clock" on school days. Since 2012, when I moved back to Blacksburg, I started regularly pet sitting for neighbors and friends and family. I have been a Rover sitter for one year now and have watched many, many sweet doggos of all shapes, sizes, breeds and demeanors. I am very patient and my work schedule allows me to be flexible in order to work with your timing. I am comfortable administering medication and working with any special food allergies or diet nuances. Bottom line: our household is active, warm and fun. We love our visiting fur friends!
