I'm retired and have a pretty flexible schedule from mid-morning through the evening. I have a reliable vehicle -- 2, if you count my husband's ;^) I'm a native northwesterner, so I have appropriate clothing for all weather!

I'll take notes during our phone call or meet-&-greet, so I'll know exactly what I need to do to keep your pet happy. Or, if you already have written instructions, we can review them to make sure I understand everything. I'll want to be sure I know about likes and dislikes at home and on walks, as well as any behavior issues, such as reactivity.
Information Nancy F. would like to know about your pet
In general, I'd like to know your pet's personality: Shy or friendly, active or laid-back, playful or cuddly. Also, feeding and other domestic routines. For walks, I'll want to know what leash and harness you use, and whether your dog has any issues with on-leash, such as pulling, hesitation, or reactivity toward people or other dogs. (Some dogs are fine off-leash but change personalities on-leash. I know, mine is like that!) For drop-in, I'll want to know how you'd like me to spend my time: if your pet could talk, what would s/he want to do during the visit?
A typical day
I'll do whatever fun activities your pet likes. Routines are important, so I'll make sure to stick to whatever routine you tell me about, whether it's a nice walk, a cuddle or play session, or even some fun training; your pet being safe, happy and in the comfort zone is what is important to me.

Pet care experience
I've had dogs and cats literally all my life, and I can't imagine my life without them. i find dog and cat behavior fascinating! I've owned, cared for, fostered and rescued dogs, cats, puppies, kittens and even horses. I've volunteered at Pasado's Safe Haven and at Seattle Humane. I share my home with a senior dog and a senior cat, so I know how to handle and care for senior pets. Sam, my dog, is mostly deaf now, so I've become adept at communicating with body language and hand signals, and I'm experienced with administering oral and topical medication. My knowledge, gained from years of hands-on care, and my patience will ensure that your doggo or kitty will be in good hands. I am retired and extremely flexible, so you can be sure I will meet your scheduling requirements, and I pay close attention to any special diets, preferences and routines.

Reviews
I have known Nancy for more than 45 years. Her love of animals is not only reflected in how well she cares for her own pets but also in her steadfast commitment to the welfare of all animals. During the years, she has cared for and found homes for approximately 80 feral kittens and many dogs. She also has volunteered for the local humane society. Her skills, experience and responsible commitment make her and oustanding person to care for others' pets.
I've known Nancy for almost 40 years - we met in the '80s at work when we both worked in a large high-tech firm in the Portland, OR area. She had a higher-level position in the HR department, and continued in that field with many other companies until she retired a few years ago from being HR director at a mid-sized company in Trout Lake, WA. In her personal life as well, Eileen has always been responsible, dependable, and has good judgement in her dealings with others (people and animals). She also has extensive experience with owning and training many dogs and cats over the years; including training one of them to do "agility runs". Although she's now retired, Nancy has a high energy level and keeps herself fit - she definitely would be able to handle any situation that may arise when caring for pets.
I have know Nancy F for about 30 years. During that time I have seen her rescue over 100 feral cats and several dogs that needed fostering. She has owned several dogs and is a very patient, understanding owner. She truly understands dog behavior and training. She has consulted with my friends on occasion who were trying to resolve some cat or dog issues. She is one of the most conscientious people I know. I would never hesitate to have her care for my animals .
