Pet care experience

Get $20 off your first Rover booking with promo code: MYRAS73311 I grew up with the best and most playful and intelligent cat named Tolstoy. He lived to a ripe old age with no complications and is fondly remembered for locking us out of the house frequently. I cared for my Pomeranian for 15 years, since he was 8 weeks old. He had many health challenges being so small and fragile, but he lived a happy and adventure-filled long life, full of love. Since losing my best little companion in May, I decided I want to help look after other little companions. I have boarded our extended families’ dogs for weekends and up to 3 weeks at a time. I am also a regular weekend drop-in cat-sitter for a friend.

I typically never leave my dog with anyone but family, but since he is on so many meds I wanted to leave him with someone that is experienced. Myrah & her husband updated me frequently & we’re easy to communicate with. I will for sure be booking with them again!

Myra was awesome taking care of Milo, my 3 year old Goldendoodle. She sent me regular pictures and updates in the form of report cards. I loved it. What I liked the most about Myra is that in the last day of my vacation, my son met with an accident and we had to postpone our return. Myra tried her best to accommodate this change. Will definitely leave Milo with her again!

Big shoutout to Myra, who's been an absolute lifesaver for our feline family for many years. She doesn't just feed our cats; she goes above and beyond to cater to their unique habits, like our tap-loving cat who won't really drink from anywhere else. Myra also smoothly handles meds when needed, and doesn't just drop by to do tasks. She spends quality time with them, giving them the attention they crave. In terms of reliability, Myra is top notch, always there when we need her, even for last minute requests. And, without a doubt, we trust her with our home and our furry family members. All in all, our cats adore Myra, and we're pretty sure the feeling is mutual. Just wanted to share how great she's been.

I live in a townhouse without a small fenced in yard with turf and drainage specifically designed for dogs, and they won’t be left alone outside. While we do have a lot of stairs we are used to carrying our senior pup up and down. We also have gates at our stairs in case your pup is daring but can’t handle the steps. We have multiple comfy dog beds as well as a small travel crate for the car, a dog seatbelt for the car (requires a harness) and have a motion sensor water fountain. We have many clean/sanitized toys for their enjoyment. We are a non-smoking home. Our house has central air conditioning to make sure every floof is comfortable. Your best friend will likely be the subject of many photos and videos sent to you throughout their stay. I also provide a report card at the end of each day letting you know how your buddy did! For drop-in visits in a client's home, I make sure to adhere to all home rules and carry out all feeding, medication and play instructions.

Information Myra S. would like to know about your pet

General temperament, required level of activity including number of walks required, temperament on a walk, injuries or impairments, behavioural issues including excessive chewing or barking, food schedule, medications and schedule, sleeping arrangements, and if you would not like your dog to leave the neighbourhood. Please ensure you have filled out their vet information. If information is lacking, be prepared for a lot of questions!

A typical day

A typical day includes cuddles, food, play, walk, snacks, lap naps, and cuddles…on repeat. I also love to take dogs for car rides, we have a small secure dog crate, and a dog seatbelt (dog must have harness to use), that lead to fun adventures around the city. During the summer we enjoy going to Kananaskis for some fresh mountain air. I generally do not go to off leash parks unless you request it, but I do take energetic dogs to a fully fenced baseball diamond to run off leash. You will receive photos and/or videos of your pup daily and a daily report card documenting their mood, eating and activities.

*** I am currently limited in boarding care as I have an infant. Feel free to message me even if it says the dates are not available. Boarding at this time will be selective. *** I am an Engineer and Interior Designer by profession but am currently at home full time with my newborn and a 6 year old who loves playing with animals and walking small dogs. I am used to caring for my senior dog and giving love and attention to the furry ones all day long. A daytime drop off is preferred for new boarding clients. This enables us to spend the day together so that nighttime is not stressful for your pet in an unfamiliar environment. Dropoff and pickup are discouraged between 8pm and 9pm due to child betimes.
