Safety, trust & environment
Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are always my top priorities — whether they’re staying in my home or I’m caring for them in yours. I create a calm, structured environment and tailor my approach to each animal’s needs, personality, and routine. When Pets Stay in My Home: - Safe, supervised environment: I keep a clean, pet-friendly home with secure areas for play, rest, and meals. Pets are never left unsupervised with unfamiliar animals. - Separate spaces if needed: If a pet is shy, anxious, or prefers their own space, I can safely separate them from others while still giving them plenty of attention and enrichment. - Clear safety plans: If I’m hosting more than one family at a time and any pet shows signs of stress or aggression, I follow a structured safety plan and communicate everything with you. - Fosters kept separate: I occasionally foster kittens or puppies, but they are always fully vetted and housed in a completely separate, contained area away from guest pets. - Comfort & routine: Pets have access to soft bedding, fresh water at all times, and plenty of affection, enrichment, and potty breaks. When I Care for Pets in Your Home: - Respecting your home and routine: I follow your instructions exactly — feeding schedules, medication routines, walk preferences, crate habits, and household rules. - Low-stress handling: I use Fear Free techniques to help pets feel relaxed, especially those who are nervous or slow to warm up. - Consistency: I keep pets on their normal routine to reduce stress and maintain a familiar environment. Experience You Can Trust: - I’m trained in safe animal handling, medication administration (oral, topical, and insulin), recognizing signs of stress or illness, and caring for dogs, cats, small mammals, and livestock. - I ask plenty of questions up front so I can fully understand your pet’s needs and keep them safe and comfortable. - I believe communication is key — you’ll receive honest updates, photos, and messages so you always feel connected.

Information Mya M. would like to know about your pet
To give your pet the safest, happiest, and most personalized care possible, I always like to gather detailed information before their stay. Please share anything that helps me understand your pet better, including: 1. Medical needs any medications, recent illnesses, allergies, special diets, mobility issues, chronic conditions, or past surgeries. 2. Behavior & temperament shy, anxious, energetic, protective, independent, vocal, clingy — all personalities are welcome. I just need to know what to expect so I can support them properly. 3. Reactivity or triggers fear of other dogs, resource guarding, sensitivity to touch, loud noises, strangers, kids, or specific situations. 4. Social preferences does your pet enjoy other animals? Prefer being alone? Need slow introductions? This helps me plan safe interactions. 5. Routines & habits feeding schedule, walk times, potty routine, crate habits, bedtime rituals — anything that keeps them comfortable and consistent. 6. Training commands they know, cues you use, and whether they pull, chew, jump, or need extra reminders. 7. Comfort items favorite toys, blankets, treats, or anything that soothes them during separation. 8. Boundaries furniture rules, treat limits, no-go areas, or behaviors you’re working on. I never judge — the more open you are, the better care I can provide. Sharing these details helps me keep your pet safe, happy, and stress-free throughout their stay.
A typical day
Every day is built around your pet’s needs, comfort level, and personality. My goal is to keep them feeling safe, entertained, and loved — whether they’re playful, calm, shy, or full of energy. Morning: We start the day with a gentle check-in, morning potty break, fresh water, breakfast, and any medications they need. I take time to read each pet’s mood so I can tailor the day to what makes them happiest. Energetic pups may enjoy a brisk walk, while more relaxed pets can start the day with slow snuggles or quiet enrichment. Daytime Fun & Activities: Throughout the day, I rotate safe, engaging activities depending on the pet’s age and personality: - Walks and outdoor time for dogs who love exploring - Interactive play like feather wands, laser pointers, tunnels, or toys for cats - Puzzle feeders, snuffle mats, and scent games to challenge their mind - Fetch, tug-of-war, or supervised yard play for high-energy pups - Calm enrichment such as grooming, relaxing music, or gentle brushing for anxious or senior pets - Special care time for pets who need medical support, mobility help, or frequent breaks - I always supervise interactions when caring for multiple pets and give each pet plenty of individual attention. Afternoon & Evening: Depending on energy levels, we may enjoy another walk, enrichment activity, or cuddle session. Pets receive dinner, medications (if needed), and evening relaxation time. I make sure they wind down feeling comfortable, secure, and loved. Photos & Updates: You’ll receive honest, consistent updates and photos throughout the day so you never have to wonder how your fur baby is doing.

Pet care experience
I have hands-on experience caring for animals of all sizes and species — from playful puppies and senior pets to cats, small mammals, reptiles, amphibians, and livestock. I’m Fear Free certified and trained in preventative care, nutrition, feline urinary health, and exotic & small mammal care. I also hold a Wildlife Rehabilitation Apprentice License (any wildlife I care for with never be in the house and your fur babies will never be exposed to them) I’m confident in safe handling, administering medications (oral, topical, and insulin), and caring for pets with medical needs, anxiety, or special requirements. I offer grooming services (no cuts) and like to send pets home with clean food and water bowls and fresh bedding. Whether your pet is shy, energetic, or needs extra cuddles, my goal is always the same: to keep them safe, comfortable, and genuinely cared for while you’re away. Clear communication is a priority, and I’m always happy to answer questions and tailor care to your pet’s unique needs. Bonus: - I also have military base access! - Drop ins on week days I'm available 1700-2200 (5pm-10pm) - Drop In’s on the weekend I'm available 0800-2200 (8am-10pm)

Reviews

My Nani girl loves staying with Mya and her family! Shes so loving toward my baby ❤️ highly recommend!

Our dogs enjoyed themselves during the time with Mya. She showed us around her place and our dogs felt comfortable with her. She sent us pictures and updates everyday. A little accident did happen between our dogs but that was out of Mya’s control but her and her husband intervened appropriately and notified us immediately of the situation. We will definitely continue to book with her in the future.

Terrible experience, 20 minutes after my dog was dropped off, she claimed my dog was messing with her asthma. She had two other big dogs already inside of her home. Instead of being able to trust someone and relax on vacation, I spent 2 days contacting Rover and trying to find a new sitter, having to pay for another one last minute, and won’t get a refund for 3-5 days. Do not recommend.

Mya was reassuring and knowledgeable on dog boarding my pup Lilo. I really appreciate that she allowed me in her space to see where Lilo would be staying, playing and boarding. Would return again!
