Anxious dog? I can help!

**Unable to walk dogs due to injury** Hello! My name is Morgan and I'm offering dog walking services and drop-in visits for your pets in Hamilton. I'm experienced working with young dogs, large breeds, and dogs with behavioural issues. I train your dog while I walk them and also let them have some fun so that they come home tired and happy! I can pick up your dog from your home and explore your neighbourhood with them. I'll send you pictures of our walks and provide treats and poop bags myself. With high energy dogs I believe that both mental and physical stimulation are important to get them tired and happy, because a tired dog is a happy dog! On walks I focus not only on taking your dog the distance, but having them do things to work their brains such as tricks or exposing them to new things. Typically I'll walk them to different parks in your neighbourhood, going to a different park or area each time to keep it interesting for your dog. New sights and smells are important! I'll also work on door manners, loose-leash walking, sit and stay, or any tricks that you'd like for me to work on. With training I use a psychology-based and trauma-informed approach. I use the least intrusive, minimally aversive strategies needed meaning I use humane, force-free methods. I use clicker training, positive reinforcement, desensitization and counter-conditioning training. *Please note that my services are NOT a substitute for working with a professional dog trainer.*

She was lovely and reliable. We had an unexpected change in our trip and she was able to do add an etra visit last minute. We are very thankful

Caring for animals is my full time gig. I'm currently studying to become a certified dog trainer. I especially love taking on dogs with behavioral issues. It's a challenge at first, but it's so rewarding to see their behavior improve over time and help owners in need.

Please let me know of any medical or behavioural issues your pet may have. I'm experienced working with dogs with behavioural issues such as aggression, reactivity, and anxiety. I'd like to know what their unwanted behaviour is (barking, lunging, growling), and what their triggers are (people, dogs, objects), so I can do my best to manage them on walks. If there is anything you'd like me to work on with them, such as loose-leash walking or specific tricks, please let me know. Please note that I do not socialize under-socialized dogs, but I will do my best to manage their behaviour and anxiety on walks. I can expose them to their triggers at their pace and from a safe distance to slowly desensitize them. If your dog has a bite history I ask that they wear a muzzle.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
