Furry & Feathered Critter Care

Welcome to Furry & Feathered Critter Care! Hi, my name is Morgan Bussey, and I’ve been working with and caring for animals my entire life. I hold a veterinary assistant certificate as well as an associate’s degree in social sciences from the College of Southern Maryland. I’ve apprenticed under multiple dog trainers and I spent a few years as a groomer’s assistant. I have my parents to thank for my love of animals. They were active in Chesapeake Bay Retriever Relief & Rescue, so I grew up surrounded by foster dogs. My mom, in particular, made sure I was spoiled with animals. I’ve cared for everything from county-fair champion chickens to a mini pig who truly thought he was a dog… to parrots who eat better than me! If you can name the species, I’ve probably loved one. At 8, I joined 4-H clubs focused on dogs, horses, and animal science. I competed in dog and horse shows until I aged out at 18. I still try to live by the 4-H pledge, with a small addition at the end: “…and my dog.” That same year, I was diagnosed with several lifelong genetic conditions. My bond with all animals, but especially dogs, became even deeper. Since then, I’ve trained multiple service dogs for myself, most of them rescues… all of whom I credit with saving my life. I started this business in 2022 on Rover as a side gig. By 2024, it became my full-time career. Now in 2026, my sole proprietor and my trade name are offical and I am insured. My goal is simple. I want to help as many animals as possible! I also run a small personal rescue, Dumpster Dogs Rescue, which I hope to turn into a nonprofit soon. We’ve already helped several dogs find their forever families. Check out the FFCC Facebook page to meet our current fosters and read our former Dumpster Dog’s stories. I hope that by providing affordable, reliable pet care services, I can help keep animals out of southern Maryland shelters and from being “dumped on the side of the road” in the first place. Thank you so much for reading and supporting my passion. If you’re a new client, please send me a message and we can schedule a meet and greet. If you’re already a client, please consider leaving a review on Facebook or Google and sharing us with your friends. Your support means the world and allows me to keep doing what I love, caring for animals. Morgan Bussey Founder & Owner Furry & Feathered Critter Care

Morgan was very good with both my pups. He did drop in visit and was on time and even made sure while during his visit to make sure they both were fed and let out and comfortable before he left and by sending messages and pictures to me after each visit.

House Sitting • Feb 15, 2026

Morgan house sat for about 2 weeks. He was very communicative throughout the sitting, he was great with the animals, and helped take care of my plants. We dealt with some issues with weather/ snow so we worked together to create plans if anything were to arise.

Schedule

My girlfriend of 2 years, Autumn, does assist me when I need some help. She loves dogs and we joke that she is my unpaid employee sometimes, especially during the busy holidays. If you would like to meet her, she often accompanies me on meet and greets.

Safety, trust & environment

I have multiple crates and entire rooms I can utilize if necessary to keep dogs separate when they are staying with me. I do not have a fence but I walk each dog staying with me multiple times a day and often hike in the private woods near my house. I also installed 3 seperate outside shaded dog run for dogs who cannot be trusted on a longline outside and who pull too much to be walked while at my house. I do not leave dogs outside without supervision, I am always outside with them doing yard work or in the kitchen watching them from my window.

Pets

A typical day

If the dog is at my home, we can go on beautiful hikes in my “backyard” aka the woods. A mile long walk leads to the Nanjemoy river with lots of things to sniff on the way! If the dog is more of a homebody we can relax and watch TV all day instead. I have multiple treat puzzles and a treasure trove of toys, treats and chews of all kinds of flavors in case the dogs have allergies.

I require proof of rabies for ALL animals. I also need to know if the dog has any past aggression or reactivity issues, bite history, and if they have any food allergy issues. Additionally, if the pet is a a female dog who is intact (not spayed) and will be staying at my house, I need to know when her last heat cycle was. Additional fees may apply for dogs in heat, pregnant dogs, dogs who destroy crates (without warning me beforehand so I can keep them out of a crate). I reserve the right to update (increase or decrease) a booking’s price depending on the situation.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
