Information Morag K. would like to know about your pet

I like to know what their usual routine is, what their temperament is like, are there any treats that they like, what are their favourite toys. What commands have they been taught, and how obedient they are, when out and about. How they interact with other dogs and people.

A typical day

I mainly look for a big park close to me, for dog walks. Taking a frisbee or ball is always a good idea, or even throwing a stick for them to chase. Dogs often like to play with other dogs at the park, whom they get on with.

Pet care experience

I have around 20 years of dog walking and cat sitting experience, professionally, along with care of the occasional rabbit and guinea pig, and feeding fish also. I also volunteer with animals a lot, over 12 years at an animal sanctuary in London, and several years at a Blue Cross hospital. I have a cat of my own, and I have had both dogs and cats as pets over the years, as well as rabbits. At both the voluntary and professional activities, these comprise of mostly helping with socialising, play, feeding, cleaning, oral medication if needed and walking, and of course, TLC! I find it hugely rewarding to meet an animal who may be reserved or scared to begin with, but they come around and are friendlier, eventually. I have learnt a lot about approaching different animals, during my time volunteering with them and working with them.

Came for a check in visit, took ONE single picture and left. Mentioned to me afterwards that there was no food left outside but they didn't take any pictures of the bowls to show me. Knowing this, she was so heartless as to not even leave a drop of water in 1 of the bowls. Or even ASK if they could, we would have covered expenses. Instead of letting me know, they contacted Rover, as if they were going to do it 😂😂. We sorted someone else for him the next day, I would not recommend.

Morag was lovely. She made the time to come and meet me and my cat, Sophie, in advance so we'd all feel comfortable. Throughout the time Morag was looking in on Sophie she sent photos and videos so I would know how she was getting on. Morag also kept me informed about her health and did some very helpful cleaning up throughout the week to ensure Sophie had a happy time. I will absolutely ask Morag to look after Sophie in the future.

Morag was 15 mins late. On top of that Mylo came back home after his walk with a head tilt and imbalance. When I checked with Morag if it could be something that happened on the walk her response was - ‘ I don't think so. He likes to nose around any grass or plants, could he have got something in his ear, maybe?’ And then mentioned ‘ I hope he's OK. We had a nice walk🙂’ Won’t be calling her again. Mylo has to undergo surgery to remove the lodged grass seed in his ear + £600 vet bill.
