Lifelong animal lover here. Most of my four leggeds have been rescues. I have been an animal mom for several decades. I have experience with puppies, kittens, dogs and cats, special needs animals and senior care. Over the last few years I had to say goodbye to my two senior pets that I had for 17 and 15 years. I miss them immensely but am not ready to take on another pet full-time at this juncture. That's where you and your beloved pets come in. I love animals and they usually love me! I am semi-retired with a super flexible schedule so I can give lots of time and attention to your loved one. I have been a Special Education teacher and a mental health counselor and am consequently, patient, calm and nurturing. I am good in an emergency, and I have learned to never back people or animals into a corner. As a result, everyone's safety is ensured. That being said, I am not comfortable working with aggressive tendencies and prefer small and medium sized dogs, seniors and special need critters.

I like to give pets their space until they get comfortable with me. I have a calm reassuring energy and animals tend to respond well to it. I am good at reading animals and follow their lead when it comes to their comfort. I have used baby gates as needed with my own critters, I always leash up (harnesses preferred) before opening a door, kennels (door open) are highly encouraged as a safe spot for pets to feel secure if they are anxious. I am mindful of a pet's needs and behaviors ie routine trips out to restroom, a good walk to expel energy or a cuddle to help soothe anxiety…

I have raised and trained service dogs since 2008. I always took my dogs to work with me. Monique and I were co workers and had many opportunities to see them. Every interaction she had with them has been amazing due to Monique’s gentleness, kindness for all living things, and her love for animals. She has been a dog and kitty mom and understands how important great care is the top priority as a pet parent. I highly recommend Monique as a responsible caregiver and walker of dogs. I would most definitely trust her my dogs.
Monique is great with animals! She can do everything from basic animal care to following a strict behavior plan for a reactive (and ridiculous) pooch. Monique is one of the first people I call if I need help with my pet… and Im slightly jealous that my pet got to spend time with her and I didn’t.

Schedule
I prefer to work between 8am and 8pm, Monday through Saturday but feel free to ask if you need something outside those hours. Ideally, I hope to connect with a few clients that I can take care of their pets on a regular basis. I am open to dog walking and drop in visits at your place (to let outside, feed, water, snuggle, cuddle and companionship.
