For housesitting, I will stay at your home the entire time (unless you have a different preference). Most pet owners prefer this if they are going to be away for days or weeks at a time, especially for pets that aren't used to being alone for long. I have a lot of experience with special needs dogs and give extra attention and care for any ailments or health issues your pet may have. I'm an actor and entrepreneur, and work mostly from home (aka: wherever I am), so I will be with your pet day and night, other than to errands, have appointments, or when I have rehearsals. I always make sure your dogs have their regular walks (and/or let them out regularly, if there is a backyard). I'm able to spend significant amounts of time with your pets so they don't feel alone and will create an atmosphere of peace and safety. I genuinely love just being with animals. Daily exercise, play, and lots of attention no matter the time of day. You can also count on your home being well taken care of. I treat both your pets and your home as I would my own, which is to say gently and with great care. Sometimes on the first day/night of a petsit, dogs especially can get diarrhea. This is usually because they are feeling anxious as they adapt to a new person combined with anxiety at their owner being away. In my experience, this usually subsides by the second day when they relax and realize they're safe and in good hands.

Please let me know if there are any significant traits your pet and how you handle them and whether they have special needs of any kind. If they are too wild to the point of possibly knocking me over or pulling me down the street, I would have to meet them first to see just how strong they are. * Please let me know if your home is a smoking or non-smoking environment as I am allergic to smoke.
A typical day
However many walks your dog normally has per day is how many they will have with me (sometimes more if they're insistent :)). They'll also get play times and lots of engagement and hugs (if they like that sort of thing). Or relaxing strolls and chill times with older, more mellow, or physically-challenged pets. I adapt to however the animal is: if they're spunky, I match their energy. If they're fearful, nervous, or have special needs, I create an atmosphere of safety, gentleness, and ease. I also give pet back rubs which they seem to relish. Additionally, I sometimes sing to them and make up songs for them which they seem to enjoy, and sometimes fall asleep to. One pup even helped me work on lines for a play, believe it or not. I'll send you photos regularly and be available in case you need to call or text about anything regarding your pet, your home, or your package and mail deliveries.

Pet care experience
I grew up with pets and have cared for animals as long as I can remember. I've always had a deep bond with them which has led people to trust me with their pets for significant periods of time. I've worked at a cat shelter and volunteered and spent lots of time with animals at the Humane Society, sometimes as a dog walker, other times just sitting with animals that were especially fearful or anxious and comforting them, like Greyhounds that had been rescued from dog tracks. Animals that have strong or negative reactions to people calm around me. I've stayed with cats who won't go near people, but come to me without calling them. Anyone who knows me, knows I will go out of my way to love them, care for them, or just say hi to them. I once had a roommate who, when I would say I needed to tell her something, would say, "Uh-oh, Monique, what kind of animal did you bring home this time?" As a filmmaker, I've also been involved in a web series that documented stories about rescue dogs in the UK and am a long-time vegan of over 3 decades.

Monique did an amazing job caring for our fur babies! We have 3 dogs- 2 rescues (including 1 with anxiety) and a senior English Bulldog who requires four meals a day and medication twice daily. Before we left, I explained that our Bulldog occasionally experiences head tremors and asked Monique to contact me if it happened while we were away. Unfortunately, our sweet girl did have head tremors, and Monique immediately reached out and followed every instruction I provided. She also did a wonderful job helping our anxious pup feel calm and comfortable. We were incredibly impressed with Moniques’s communication, attention to detail, and the photos and updates she shared throughout our trip. It was clear that our dogs felt safe, loved, and comfortable in her care. We returned home to 3 happy pups and complete peace of mind! We highly recommend Monique and look forward to having her care for our fur babies again! 🐶❤️
Monique has watched our dogs and house a few times while we were on vacation and has done a wonderful job each time. On one occasion she was taking care of 4 large dogs and handled it well. She is our 'go to' sitter and we would highly recommend her.
