I'm a retired officer, background-checked through Rover, and have more than 10 years of experience caring for my own dogs as well as friends', family members', and clients' pets. Throughout my career and personal life, responsibility, trustworthiness, and attention to detail have always been important to me, and I bring those same qualities to every pet I care for. In 2016, I adopted Barney the Shih Tzu, followed by Jack in 2019. Both were estimated to be about four years old at the time. In 2025, Jack passed away from bone cancer, giving me firsthand experience caring for a senior dog with significant medical needs. In 2022, I rescued Penny, the white pup in my profile photo. Monica was amazing! The first day we met and talked with her for our meet and greet, we were immediately at ease with having her sit for our dog and home. When we were away, we could tell that Monica was so kind, thoughtful and playful with Coco. She played with her toys with her, threw the ball, spent time in the yard and took her on neighborhood walks. She also took her on car rides and in general treated Coco like she was her own. We got so many adorable pictures and updates, and when we got home from our trip, Coco was calm and happy. We could not be more pleased. Also, Monica took beautiful care of our house and administered all of Coco's medications throughout the day. We would hire Monica to sit again in a heartbeat.

Schedule
Pet care is a natural part of my daily routine, and I'm home much of the time. This allows me to provide regular companionship, potty breaks, feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and supervision throughout the day. Because I intentionally limit the number of pets I care for at one time, I am able to provide a more personalized level of attention and maintain a calmer environment for the pets in my care. Whether caring for pets in my home or in a client's home, I strive to maintain their normal routine as closely as possible. Consistency helps pets feel comfortable, secure, and relaxed while their owners are away. My schedule is generally flexible, allowing me to accommodate a variety of care needs, including daycare, overnight care, drop-in visits, and pet sitting in a client's home. Pick-up and drop-off service may be available depending on distance and scheduling.

My dogs are part of the family and spend much of their time relaxing near us, on the furniture, or curled up on a lap. Visiting pets are treated with the same level of care, attention, and companionship while in my home. Dogs are welcome on furniture unless owners request otherwise. I intentionally limit the number of guest dogs I accept at one time to help create a calm, safe, and low-stress environment. This allows me to provide close supervision and a more personalized experience than many high-volume pet care settings. If you prefer your dog to be crated for sleeping, feeding, or when unattended, I'm happy to accommodate as long as a crate is provided. Visiting dogs should be reasonably housebroken, with exceptions considered on a case-by-case basis for puppies and special circumstances. Meet-and-greets are strongly preferred whenever possible before services begin. They allow me to learn about your pet's personality, needs, and comfort level while helping determine whether my home and care style are a good fit. When caring for pets in a client's home, I respect both the pet's routine and the owner's home, providing dependable care, companionship, exercise, and attentive supervision. I believe every pet deserves patience, kindness, consistency, and respect. My goal is to provide a safe, comfortable environment where pets can feel relaxed, secure, and well cared for while their owners are away.

A typical day depends on each pet's personality, energy level, and preferences. Some pets love walks, playtime, toys, and exploring new sights and smells, while others are happiest relaxing nearby and enjoying companionship. For pets staying in my home, the day may include walks, potty breaks, playtime, feeding, treats (if approved by the owner), cuddle time, and plenty of opportunities to relax and feel at home. My dogs are part of the family, and visiting pets are treated the same way. For drop-in visits and overnight care in a client's home, I focus on keeping pets engaged, comfortable, and happy through walks, play sessions, companionship, enrichment activities, and maintaining their regular schedule. Whether your pet enjoys chasing a ball, going for a leisurely stroll, exploring the neighborhood, receiving belly rubs, or simply having someone nearby, I adjust activities to match their individual needs and comfort level. My goal is for every pet to feel safe, comfortable, loved, and well cared for while you're away.

Helpful information about your pet's routine, feeding schedule, sleeping preferences, favorite activities, comfort items, and personality can also help make their stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. The more I know ahead of time, the better I can tailor care to your pet and help ensure a safe, comfortable, and positive experience.
