Pet care experience

Empathetic, loving, attentive and experienced

*Also provide doggy day care in your home - so your pooch is ultra happy and you don't have to pick them up after a long day at work.* I'm experienced in pet sitting across the UK and overseas - for my birthday last year I went to the French Alps to care for two reactive rescue dogs. Everything went extremely well when they were in my care and I couldn't think of a better way to spend my birthday than in the mountains with two gorgeous doggos. From my experience caring for my dog, Scamp, in his senior years with kidney failure I've learned how to be incredibly attentive by staying attuned to body language. I see myself as someone who is incredibly patient, loving and understanding with dogs (and many other animals too). I miss my other half, my Spaniel soulmate who passed away in spring 2024 called Scamp, and as it's not the right time for me to commit to getting another dog I try to spend as much time as possible taking care of other people's canine companions. I grew up always having a dog in my life, as well as guinea pigs, rabbits and chickens. When I was 12 our family brought home puppy Scamp - my dad was 'top dog' and I was the best friend. My dad took me out into the fields to train Scamp with him and he remained split responsibility from then. When my dad passed away 3 years ago I became Scamp's primary carer. Scamp lived a happy, healthy and fulfilling life until his kidneys started to give up on him aged 14 years old. He was my emotional support after Dad died, and I think I was his too. We spent all day every day together (as I work remotely) and absolutely doted upon each other. I'm experienced in administering medicine and I also know what to look for in terms of signs of illness or sickness etc. I'm practiced at using a whistle for recall and commands. I've also got two doggy seatbelts in my car if they are happy to go on adventures! I've always had brilliant feedback and have been offered repeat sits by every owner I've helped so far. As I work remotely, I can adapt to the needs of your dog. If they're fit and want adventures, I'll jump at the opportunity to take them on a midweek road trip for a big hike. If they like people, I'd love to whisk them away to a local dog-friendly cafe while I work from my laptop. If they need consistency in training or comfort due to being a puppy or a senior dog, I can deliver both of those things. I will talk, sing and play piano to your dog (if they enjoy as much as Scamp did). If you'd like me to stay at your house for the dog sitting I guarantee to take care of your property and belongings - I'm clean, tidy and respectful. If I was a dog, I'd be a Springer Spaniel myself - because I'm just as excitable and energetic when I'm with people or pets who reciprocate that. When Scamp was young he was full of beans, but I could always keep up with him. *Yes that is an oil painting of my prince behind him in the photo above.*

Safety, trust & environment

Whatever your requirements for consistency or for your pet to feel safe and secure I will care for them in that way. At my house I have a fenced garden but I am confident and comfortable walking dogs on or off the lead (depending on which you would prefer). I'm happy to take control so your pet listens to me and sleeps in their crate or behaves in a way that is needed - using positive reinforcement and patience.

Doggy Day Care • May 08, 2025

Monica was brilliant start to finish! She was able to flex to a change of date which was super appreciated and quickly became a best bud to our puppy. Her updates throughout the day put my mind at ease and it was clear Kintra had, had a really lovely time with her. Monica made us feel immediately at ease when she arrived and gave a great run down of the day when I came home. Absolutely recommend to anyone looking for a dog/puppy sitter!

House Sitting • Apr 03, 2025

My family and I all absolutely adored Monica. I can't believe we found the PERFECT person for our dogs. She was charming, efficient, tidy, communicative, reliable, kind, trustworthy ... I could go on and on. She clearly fell in love with our two springers and took them on some fantastic adventures - I'm sure they were sad when she left and they had to return to normal life! She also looked after the house (and multiple houseplants!) with great care and attention. We will definitely be booking Monica again and we can wholeheartedly recommend her.

Monica was available on short notice and did such a great job with Otis. He’s absolutely knackered after a day of play. We didn’t have to worry about him once. Thanks Monica!

Monica is amazing, we feel very reassured leaving our pets with her, she treats them as if her own. In fact she's so good, our dogs miss her when she's gone She's really reliable and keeps us updated whilst we are away. Highly recommend ⭐

It would be great to know these things: ° Allergies or special diet °Interactions they don't like when 1:1 with a human (bar the obvious when getting to know someone new). ° Unexpected triggers of anxiety etc ° Favourite game ° On lead or off lead? If they can be let off the lead, what are the commands for 1. Recall 2. Sit (some people say hup) 3. Wait 4. Stay close/heel 5. Any other important ones! ° Are they crated and when? ° Where can I find collar, lead, treats, brush, tick remover, towel, dog shampoo, poo bags ° Can they do car journeys (longer sits)
