I have had dogs and cats for most of my life, and I really enjoy sitting other people's pets as well. I am available to sit at your house, or my own. I have done overnights for as many as six animals at a time, and I can handle dogs and cats with a diversity of personalities. I am also familiar with doing overnights for rabbits and iguanas, and have experience grooming horses and mucking out stalls as well. My only limitation is that I do not feed live animals to pets requiring a live diet (although insects and crickets are fine). This means I will not be able to care for serpents that require a live animal diet. If you are away from your pet, I will be sending photos to your cell phone each day so you can see how he or she is doing. If you are not able to return home from holiday at the time you anticipated, I will work with you to ensure that your pet receives care until you get back. I always arrange to meet the pet and its parents at the pet's home before accepting a "sitting". We can discuss any concern you have at this time, and I will either take notes, or you can provide me with a printed set of instructions. I look forward to working with you in the near future. Dogs get three walks a day, and cats get plenty of love, and attention to their meows. Dogs may also get Fresh Pet for good behavior.

Monica took great care of our dog Kaiser and left our house in better shape than when we left! She is a kind and conscientious sitter that provides great updates and communication.
Monica was great with our shy and wary dog Kaiser! We were looking for someone who could stay with him at our home for three days. Monica came to our home twice prior to the dog sitting dates to get to know Kaiser and discuss details of what we needed. She was communicative and flexible and also let us know what information would be helpful for her to have ahead of time. She sent us updates each day and was very patient with Kaiser. Great experience!!
I hadn't left Keeva with anyone other than family and any sort of boarding wasn't an option because as formerly abused dog, she is terrified of being in a cage/crate. But as we were planning a family trip I decided to try Rover and thankfully!!!! "met" Monica. I wish I could give her more than 5 stars - she was clearly wonderful with Keeva taking her on walks and kindly sent me quite a few pictures (which as an anxious dog mom, I greatly appreciated). I wouldn't hesitate to have her care (and she really does care) for Keeva again so all I can say is 10 stars. Thank you Monica.
Monica did a great job of taking care of our two dogs, a cat, and a bird last Spring Break. While we were away for a week, she kept the house spotless, and sent us pictures each day for the first several days of our vacation. None of our animals were on meds, so she only had to play with them in the backyard, and keep the dog room clean. Our cat and bird required only minimal care. Monica sorted the mail, made sure the trash cans came back in on trash pick-up day, made sure the house was locked when she left, and added an extra day of care at the end of our vacation due to a cancelled flight (we paid her for the additional time). It was a good experience for our family and our animals, and we would definitely use her again if our neighbors don’t offer to watch our animals on our next vacation.

Schedule
I am currently working as a substitute teacher, so I'll have plenty of time to play with your pups! I am available on weekends, school holidays, and I can often arrange to pick up a dog on Friday afternoon and return it on Monday afternoon or evening.

I live in a quiet neighborhood at Lake Anna with shaded streets and plenty of park land where dogs can walk on or off leash, play in creeks, or play in shallow portions of the lake. There is also a large, covered, second story back porch where dogs are welcome to relax.

A typical day
I live right along the bike trail that runs through Falls Church, and I love putting dogs on a leash, and walking them on the gravel path next to the bike trail. Shy dogs can stay closer to the house, and simply walk with me around the neighborhood. As of June, 2020, I moved to McLean. I have a lovely fenced in back yard at a house right across from McLean HS. In June, 2022 I began boarding dogs at my Lake Anna home two hours south of McLean, VA. I am available to board dogs at your home in McLean or the surrounding area, but I plan on remaining at Lake Anna, and dogs that board with me will be near the lake (but not on a boat).
