I work 4 days but my partner works from home meaning your pets will have a lot of company. Sometimes he does have to go into the office but not very often. We love going for long walks in the evenings and weekends as well. If it works for your pet I like to walk dogs in our care before I go to work in the morning and my partner likes to take them out in the afternoon. We will alter that to fit with your pet’s usual schedule.

Safety, trust & environment

We are licensed with Glasgow City Council for pet boarding. We have a walled enclosed garden so your dog will always have access to a garden for sniffing and toilet breaks. Depending on our schedules, I will walk your dog before or after work and my partner will also walk your dog during the day too. If needed we can go out in the evening as well. Dogs don’t go upstairs in our house and they sleep in our living room although most boarders have preferred sleeping at the bottom of the stairs on the landing! I have carried out home assessments for Pet fostering Scotland when new volunteer fosterers are recruited so I understand how important a dog friendly, safe space is.

Information Monica B. would like to know about your pet

We have looked after dogs through pet fostering that often come with little or no information from an emergency situation. We have always been able to provide a calm environment for pets but if your dog has specific issues or things we need to know please do share that information so that we can care for them as best we can. You will need to share up to date vaccination details and your dog’s microchip number with us as well as emergency contact/vet details when completing your consent form with us during drop off.

A typical day

We are happy to fit in with what your dog needs and love to go to our nearby parks as well as exploring further afoot to the Braes in Castlemilk and to the beach in Cardross. We are happy to throw balls and frisbees for your furry friends!

Pet care experience

We are insured, licensed pet boarders with Glasgow City Council. I grew up with Springer Spaniels and Jack Russels and we have been pet fostering since 2017 and boarding since 2023. We have had all types of dogs in our care, often pairs and trios from the same home. Usually the owners had become homeless or went into hospital and by looking after their dogs we prevented them from being rehomed. Unfortunately we can’t share photos of those dogs (it’s Pet Fostering Scotland’s policy) but you can see that the Glasgow area organiser of Pet Fostering Scotland has endorsed our ability to care for your dog. Sometimes it was for a week but we also looked after dogs for 6 months too. Pet welfare and happiness is important to us so you can rely on us to look after your dogs as if they were our own. We have had collies, spaniels, frenchies, bijon’s, sharpeis and more. We are the ‘go to’ to look after friends dogs as well. We loved having dogs in our care temporarily so later we decided to offer this service officially. We don’t have our own pets so you can be sure we would give your dogs our full attention. We are still pet fostering for Pet Fostering Scotland and I also carry out home assessments for new fosterers. I passed the ITC First Aid for Dogs certificate at Edinburgh Cat & Dog home on 13/1/2024 and it is valid until 31/1/2027.

As usual our dog Fred had a great time with Monica, so much so that when we went to pick him up he was happy to sit with her in no hurry to leave. No worries at all leaving him in her care.
