Safety, trust & environment
As an in-home pet sitter, my number one priority is the safety and wellbeing of your animals. I pay close attention that their home remains a clean, safe, and comfortable place for them while you are away. While it can be difficult for your pets to get used to having a new person around, getting to stay home and building a trusting relationship with a sitter reduces their stress and anxieties. I also strive to provide you with clear and frequent communication. Please let me know how many times a day you’d like to receive pictures and updates on your pet!!
Information Monica B. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know: - if your animal is reactive and what triggers their reactivity if you know - If your animal takes medication - If your dog tugs on walks - If your dog needs to be exercised off-leash - If you are comfortable with your dog being in the car (with my provided car leash or your own car safety gear) - How many times per day you’d like to be updated on your pet ⭐️ If your animal has: mobility issues, incontinence, or a cognitive impairment please let me know!! ⭐️⭐️ PLEASE READ!! : You know your pet best and I understand that all pets have different needs. That said, I am not comfortable accepting walks or drop-in bookings while you are out of town if no one will be staying with them overnight / if I will be the only person checking in on them while you are out of town. MOST animals need more than 1 hour of care and stimulation a day. Please consider an overnight sitter/ boarding for your furry family member.
A typical day
I love to engage dogs mentally as well as physically to truly exercise them fully. I always let walks and play happen at their pace so they can explore the paths we're on and engage with the world around them!

Pet care experience
I absolutely adore all animals, but especially dogs and cats! I’ve owned 4 dogs and 5 cats over my lifetime and have always felt deeply honored to care for the pets of others. I strive to treat every animal with the same care and respect that I would pay to my own babies. I’ve been pet sitting for over 10 years independently and have been on Rover for almost 2 years. I’ve worked with a wide variety of personalities and reactivity levels. I am always open to learning more about your pets to understand how to give them the best care. If you have a reactive, “stubborn”, or medically-complex pet, please just let me know! I’m always open to work with any animal if we are the right fit for each other. I understand that your animals are a part of your family! ❤️🐾 Being apart from you can cause some anxieties, so I always aim to build a trusting relationship that will set them at ease in my care. I love returning to the same pets over and over and building a relationship that allows them to recognize me, feel safe, and know we’re going to have fun together!! I love to take dogs out to explore new places throughout the city but also recognize the importance of maintaining the schedule and environment they have with you. Please let me know what balance works best for your pet and what you are comfortable with! While I am getting to know a new dog, I will not let them off-leash. However, if you demonstrate their recall to me and feel comfortable with their ability to recall to new people, I am okay with working up to off-leash park time or fetch after a few walks on-leash. I want time to build mutual trust and respect but understand the importance of more vigorous exercise for certain breeds that off-leash running can provide. Again, please just let me know what your dog needs!

Reviews
Monica was amazing and truly saved our trip. We were out of the country and needed in-home care for our 7-year-old Samoyed who required medications, eye drops, and a detailed routine. Monica handled everything with such professionalism, warmth, the utmost kindness and care. Her communication was excellent with thoughtful updates, proactive check-ins, and so much attentiveness. She cared for him beautifully, managed everything like a pro, and made us feel almost like we were home with him ourselves. We’re incredibly grateful, so happy we found her, and would trust her again without hesitation. Couldn’t recommend more highly.

Monica is the best!!! Always very flexible and communicative and Nala loves her walks with her

Monica was great, she was very timely, communicative and took great care of our pup. I felt great knowing that my dog was with someone so reliable and would absolutely love to have Monica watch my dog again!

Monica was a dream pet sitter. My home was well taken care of, she communicated frequently with photos and updates, and I am pretty sure my pup got more exercise with her than he would have with me at home. He was happy and healthy after spending 10 days with her. I would recommend her to friends and family and hope she will watch Pepper again in the future!
