Chasing puppies is my cardio!
I work as a nurse during the week, but spend every free moment I have with my dog. Most of my free time is spent exploring with Bandit, training, or getting plenty of snuggles in. He goes everywhere with me and is basically my child! I hope to give your dog(s) that same level of love and care while you’re away. I have extensive experience with a wide variety of dogs through personal ownership, volunteer work, past clients, and group training settings. I am very comfortable with extra-large breeds, as I previously owned a St. Bernard. As he aged, he developed special needs, so I’m especially comfortable caring for senior dogs and those who require extra attention. I hope to give back to others the same compassion and care my dear Deputy received in his later years. Over the past year, I’ve worked closely with a professional dog trainer and have learned so many valuable skills. If you’re ever looking for a trainer, I’m happy to share a great recommendation! Ultimately, my goal is to give you peace of mind knowing your baby is treated like family—and to get a few extra doggy kisses in return.

Miwa was wonderful! She absolutely went above and beyond my expectations. She watched my two dogs while I was out of town on a day trip. I was just expecting someone to feed them and let them out. However, Miwa took them for a walk in the forest preserve and even washed them when they got home. I highly recommend her and will definitely be using her again.
We had such a great experience with Miwa! She stayed in constant contact the entire time, sending updates and lots of pictures, which gave us so much peace of mind. It was clear our dog was happy and well cared for, and having lots of fun! She took her on a hike (which she loves!) and made sure to stick with the training methods we’re currently using. I have a hard time trusting others to watch my very wild crew of dogs. Miwa came out and immediately made me feel comfortable to enjoy time away while she took care of my crew of 5. Included in the mix was my 13 year old baby that just made it out of a very serious surgery. She exceeded all my expectations with taking on his meticulous care from helping him walk, medications, and keep me updated with pictures and how he was doing across the board! Miwa is responsible, caring, diligent, and took in all the things required for my boys’ care!! 10/10.
I’m a local dog trainer that Miwa hired to help train her dog, Bandit. Miwa was immediately hooked on learning all about her dog’s needs, wants and the behaviors he used to achieve those things. She wanted to learn how to give him fulfillment and let him be an adventure dog, while also keeping him safe. Miwa still embraces that passion by continuing her education on dog behavior, and as a result has become a trusted person to board my past training pups when I have overflow. Miwa is attentive, responsive, and most certainly a great deal of fun for the pups who enter her home. I highly recommend Miwa!
Miwa took care of our 2 year old mini Bernadoodle and she was everything we expected and more. We went away for a weekend and she not only took care of Penelope and her daily needs but also went above and beyond with taking her on extra walks, giving her more adventures and giving her more snuggle time. We ar forever grateful for Miwa and everyyhinsbe did for us and our little Penelope!! We will for sure be back and make sure you request Miwa everytime. It is clear that Miwa is caring, reliable and responsible. Miwa is truly a wonderful person and the best pet sitter ever. My animals are well loved and taken care of that I don't have to worry about them when we're gone. She also sends pictures and messages about how they are doing to gives us peace of mind .

Schedule
I typically work M-F 8-430 pm but have flexibility with my job. This makes most of my availability after 3/4pm M-F. Friday evenings and the weekend I am much more flexible. If you don't see availability that you need on my calendar, feel free to reach out and I'd be happy to work something out!

Safety, trust & environment
I am happy to follow any rules you may have for your dog. I am willing to come meet your dog(s) before the first visit to ensure everyone, including the dogs, feels comfortable. I will always send pictures during visits so that you know they were well loved. If you have a dog that has a history of aggressive reacticity I do require a meet and greet prior to the first visit. In the case of a non-aggression case and we are unable to meet prior to the first visit, I will ensure to reach out and obtain all details needed to provide safe care for your pup!
Pets
A typical day
I love to take dogs out for walks/hikes. If you are comfortable I'd be happy to bring your dog out for a walk through some trails with my dog. I like to provide mentally stimulating games using kibble and treats as well. I'd be happy to try and work on stabilizing basic commands as well (sit, stay, place, leave it, off, speak, shake).
