I will care for your pet at your home in a number of ways. Mainly, I will be sure to be around and present with your pet - so that they do not feel isolated or alone. Depending on your pet's needs and daily activities, I can be sure to play with them using their favorite toys, give them enough petting attention, be sure they are fed on time and regularly, keep their environment (and box) clean and tidy, and adhere to any other special needs or comforts they may have!

It is certainly helpful to know if a pet will need extra attention such as medication, specific activity, sound considerations, eating specifications, or other details of that nature. This does not affect my interest in caring for them but is useful to know for preparation and understanding of where they are at and what they will need during our time together.
A typical day
Generally, I will be sure to take dogs out to walk and wander around, often catering to their own sniffing explorations since it is their time to explore and get some exercise and fresh air. I will also be sure to play with either cats or dogs using favored toys or specified activities. At the same time, I will be sure to have some down-time with them, giving them attention and companionship, with an occasional treat (if permitted by the owner).

Pet care experience
I have always been around cats but have enjoyed getting to know dogs over the past 15 years or so. In addition to hanging out with my parents' dogs, I have also walked and cared for a number of dogs and cats over the past years for friends, family, and others. This has included pet-sitting (cats and dogs), daily walks (morning-afternoon-evenings and before bed), routine feeding, cleaning cat boxes, medicating with or without food, and providing company and assistance with a dog who was healing from an injury and needing to stay immobilized throughout the day. I am currently working part-time. My schedule allows for morning walks, possibly early afternoon walks, and dog-sitting during week-ends and occasionally during the week as well. I am happy to care for you pet at your home while you are away but am currently unable to have pets in my home. This often seems ideal as it tends to reduce stress since they don't have to adjust to a new location or be alone overnight.

When I first met Mitzi, I found out she is a cat lover, and we had some great conversations about cats. From these conversations and as a cat owner since my childhood, it was clear to me Mitzi understands cat nature. I have a black and white 6 year old fellow, who is a bit finicky and picky about who he responds to. He doesn't approach fully when first meeting a new person, but usually does so gradually. When Mitzi first entered my home, Jasper immediately went into her sphere and it was clear he was perfectly comfortable with her. She has the calming presence he really appreciates; he's never done that with any other first time visitor. So of course, when I needed a cat sitter, I asked her. And, usually, because I know how busy people are, I'll ask three neighbors to stop by over a week to take care of him. Mitzi volunteered to do the whole week. I was so surprised and asked, "Are you sure?" She said yes, and I was grateful that Jasper would have a regular pal for the whole week. While I was away, she sent me some photos of him, and in his eyes I could see the affection and trust he has for Mitzi, and in other photos he looked totally splayed out/relaxed and comfortable in her presence. When I returned home, he was happy to see me, and whenever Mitzi visits, he is always happy to see her and goes directly to her.
