Safety, trust & environment
I always provide lots of attention and affection to ensure your doggy's safety and happiness while you're away. I carefully follow all care instructions and will verify anything with you if we haven't discussed it prior. Making sure your pup is happy and healthy is truly my top priority! I really try to go above and beyond for your baby and treat them as I would want my own treated. 💛 Keep in mind I’m a disabled veteran with a spinal disability—I cannot walk your pup if they weigh over 80 lbs or multiples if they are a combined weight of over 80 lbs. However, I can provide care for any weight or number of dogs if they have yard access. On walks I provide pet waste bags, cold filtered water, and a collapsible bowl to drink from. I use training treats to encourage good behavior and to help guide your dog’s attention away from potential triggers we may encounter on our walks. 𝗪𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝘆 If temperatures reach 85°F or 65% humidity or greater, the risk of heat exhaustion and stroke increase substantially. If the temperature plus the humidity percentage exceeds 150, it becomes dangerous for your dog to be outside, as they can no longer cool themselves through panting. As safety is always my top priority, during these times we will be walking extra slowly, taking frequent water breaks, and may even need to return early for indoor play instead. If the temperature reaches 90°F or 70% humidity or greater, we will only do a 5-10 minute potty break walk before returning inside for play. 𝗗𝗼𝗴 𝗪𝗮𝗹𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗘𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝘆 For the health and safety of all pups in my care, I require that each be walked using a well-fitting harness, flat collar, martingale collar, or prong collar, along with a non-retractable leash. I will not walk dogs in front-clip harnesses that cross the chest (H-shaped) or gentle leaders as they can cause health issues with long-term use. For the same reason, if your pup is a puller, I cannot walk them on a flat collar. If you don't have these items available, no worries! I always bring my own back up equipment just in case. 𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐏𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐮𝐩 & 𝐑𝐞𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐧 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐲 Please provide a discrete location for key pickup and drop-off at your home. If a location is not provided and a separate trip is required solely for key exchange, an $8 fee will apply to account for my time and travel. Alternatively, you may schedule an appointment for free key pick up or drop off at my home.
Information Missy T. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know if your dog has any special needs, disabilities, allergies, routines, or any other important considerations I should be aware of. I’d also like to know if your dog is reactive to certain stimuli on walks, is a puller, or can slip their collar.
A typical day
If requested, for drop-ins I can provide a puzzle toy or snuffle mat so we can exercise their mind as well as body. If they're more laid back, maybe just a slicker brush or undercoat rake (sanitized after each use) to help remove some of that itchy fur and bring their coat to its full potential! It's really all up to your dog's energy level, physical ability, and mood! I'm able to reinforce basic obedience and easy tricks you may be teaching at home with the last 3-5 min of our visit, just ask! These should be simple cues such as: touch, sit, stay, leave it, down, go to spot, shake, high five, spin, roll over, etc. Additionally, I am able to work with pullers to encourage good leash manners, but I ask you provide your own treats for this as I don't want to upset their stomach by introducing too much of a new food.

Pet care experience
From my experience fostering rescue dogs then adopting one to call my own, I've learned how to attentively care for seniors, those with special needs, and am able to provide dedicated care for multiple at once. I’m comfortable handling pups that are reactive or may pull on walks. You can also rest easy knowing I have private pet care insurance in case of accident or emergency to help protect your pup and property! I'm certified in Pet CPR and First Aid, Pet Sitting and Dog Walking, and in Basic Obedience Training. I am currently furthering my education in dog training, and am a member of the International Association of Canine Professionals. I really enjoy spending time with all types of animals (unless it has more than 4 legs, ugh) and can't wait to meet yours to give them some much-deserved love and attention while you’re away!

Reviews

Very responsible and efficient. Thank you!

The one of the best dog sitters I’ve ever had. Milly went above and beyond with walking distance, cute pictures of my boys, made sure they had extra water, brought her own treats and left a sweet note/goody bag on her last drop-in. Maverick and Milo absolutely loved her and special requested her for my next trip!

Missy was fantastic! Our dog Margo loved her and we got some beautiful pictures of our happy dog! Thanks Missy!

She accommodated a last minute walk, she was extremely responsive and professional, and my pup loved her. We are grateful and I will absolutely use her again.
