I’ve volunteered with dog rescues for over 15 years, caring for pups of all ages, breeds, and temperaments. I’m experienced with senior care, administering medications, and training basic commands. Whether it’s high-energy play or gentle walks, I tailor my care to each dog’s needs. I treat every dog like my own—with patience, love, and a whole lot of belly rubs.

Safety and trust are my top priorities. I do all sitting and walks by myself to ensure the safety of your home and your pet. In your home, I create a calm, pet-friendly space free of hazards and stress. I follow all care instructions closely, including feeding routines, medication, and preferred walking routes. I build trust through gentle handling, consistent communication, and lots of love, ensuring every pet feels safe and comfortable.

Melissa was awesome! She updated us a couple of times each day, and sent pictures of our sweet boys. Her communication was above and beyond, and we knew that our dogs were in great hands while we were away. Highly recommended!
Milissa is fabulous! We normally take our dogs to the vet while we are out of town, but this time we thought we’d try River and I am so Thankful we did! Milissa came out to meet our pets before hand. She took the time for them to get acquainted with her. When on our trip she sent me an update (including pictures!) everyday. She will definitely be our go-to gal from now on
Milissa is absolutely wonderful with my elderly German Wirehair. She's very understanding and intuitive with him, reading his signals as to when he is too tired or hot. She's dependable and flexible as well as communicative. I feel very relaxed with her caring for my dog.

I’m so grateful we found Milissa, she was truly a blessing while we were away for an extended time. She took great care of everything, walking our dogs, checking on our cats, and keeping an eye on our property. She has a natural intuition with animals and was very attentive to their health and needs. Her timing for visits and walks was thoughtful and well, planned, and her communication was always clear, positive, and reassuring. Pet care fits perfectly into my routine. I attend college in person Monday through friday for about seven hours a day, which still allows me plenty of flexibility around classes. I carefully plan my days around walks, feedings, playtime, and check-ins to ensure pets always receive the attention and care they deserve. With the majority of my day available, I’m able to provide consistent companionship, love, and a calm, reliable environment for every pet in my care.

- It’s super important for me to know a few key things ahead of time to give your pet the best care possible: Personality & temperament – Are they shy or social? Any triggers or fears? Routines – Feeding times, walk schedules, sleep habits, etc. Medical needs – Allergies, medications, past injuries, or special instructions. Behavioral quirks – Do they pull on the leash, try to escape, guard food or toys? What comforts them – Favorite toys, phrases, or calming techniques. Other pets or people – How do they react to other animals or strangers? The more I know, the better I can make them feel right at home—even when they’re away from home.
