I’ve volunteered with dog rescues for over 15 years, caring for pups of all ages, breeds, and temperaments. I’m experienced with senior care, administering medications, and training basic commands. Whether it’s high-energy play or gentle walks, I tailor my care to each dog’s needs. I treat every dog like my own—with patience, love, and a whole lot of belly rubs.

Milissa is fabulous! We normally take our dogs to the vet while we are out of town, but this time we thought we’d try River and I am so Thankful we did! Milissa came out to meet our pets before hand. She took the time for them to get acquainted with her. When on our trip she sent me an update (including pictures!) everyday. She will definitely be our go-to gal from now on
Milissa is absolutely wonderful with my elderly German Wirehair. She's very understanding and intuitive with him, reading his signals as to when he is too tired or hot. She's dependable and flexible as well as communicative. I feel very relaxed with her caring for my dog.

Pet care fits perfectly into my routine. I attend college in person Monday through friday for about seven hours a day, which still allows me plenty of flexibility around classes. I carefully plan my days around walks, feedings, playtime, and check-ins to ensure pets always receive the attention and care they deserve. With the majority of my day available, I’m able to provide consistent companionship, love, and a calm, reliable environment for every pet in my care.

Safety and trust are my top priorities. I do all sitting and walks by myself to ensure the safety of your home and your pet. In your home, I create a calm, pet-friendly space free of hazards and stress. I follow all care instructions closely, including feeding routines, medication, and preferred walking routes. I build trust through gentle handling, consistent communication, and lots of love, ensuring every pet feels safe and comfortable.
A typical day
When I watch pets, it’s all about making sure they feel happy, safe, and loved! For dogs, I love going on sniff-filled walks, playing fetch or tug-of-war, and giving plenty of belly rubs. If they’re more on the chill side, we can relax with a gentle brushing session or a cozy nap together. For cats, I bring out the toys! Wand toys, laser pointers, and crinkly balls are a hit. I also make sure they get quiet cuddle time or space to do their own thing, depending on their mood. I always tailor the activities to your pet’s personality and energy level—whether that means lots of outdoor time, puzzle toys for brain games, or just keeping a calm, reassuring presence.
