I do work shift work and on-call, so while this allows for flexibility, I have no set days week-to-week. That being said, my ability to come at a broader range of times on days off is beneficial. *For more availability please message me as sometimes days marked “unavailable” are simply reserved for on-call and can be modified.**

I have attended training classes with my own dogs using positive reinforcement which I will implement with any dog in my care. I am happy to care for your dog alone, or, if it suits, I can bring my two for company (*situationally dependent**). I am more than happy to accommodate for any tools or systems you require to be used with your dog. *I am not a dog trainer, but will use your training regimen when out with your pup* Drop-in visits can include potty breaks, a quick play in the yard, medications (*dependent*), snacks, and belly rubs.

If your dog has any special requirements (ie. a muzzle or other training tool, meds, etc.), advance notice is appreciated so we can better discuss the expectations. If you have a high-energy dog that is in need of a bigger outing, advance time to plan is required. Any behavioural issues such as dog/human reactivity, resource guarding, etc so that we have time to meet and learn to work together.
A typical day
I love getting outdoors and onto the nature trails with my pups. Especially when paired with good, stimulating exercise. A run, a bike, a ski - these are my favourite ways to get a dog tired out!

Several years ago, I got involved in dogsled guiding, and I immediately fell in love with the dogs and the bond formed between musher and canine. This sparked a passion for dogs in sport for me. I love running, skiing, and biking with furry friends. As an active person with 2 dogs of my own, I am happy to share the fun with any pup - from a leisurely stroll to sprinting on-line in a harness. My experience in dog handling has covered new puppies, to senior dogs - I love them all! Let’s meet and see how we get along, and then, let’s run!

Mikaela is awesome! Super communicative and flexible, and has experience with reactive dogs and with positive reinforcement training, which is rare on this platform. I am super happy to have found her to take my reactive shelter dog out on walks/runs, with no stress on my part, just relief and happiness that I know she can handle anything that comes up. Mikeala is clearly experienced with dogs of all sizes and with all behaviors. She was confident and upbeat, and managed our pup's reactivity well. Shermy came back tuckered out and content, which was a comfort for us to know he wasnt just walked, but had some good exercise. THANKS Mik! Highly recommend!
Mikaela has been absolutely wonderful with my dog, Teddy. She is responsible, attentive, and clearly has a natural way with dogs. Teddy genuinely looks forward to spending time with her and her pups. I always feel confident knowing he is in caring and capable hands, and it’s clear she treats every dog as if they were her own.
