Pet care experience
Dog loving Grandpa
My wife and I rescued and cared for four young dogs. Two right after they were weaned, one feral off the streets around 6 months old, one around 9 months old almost run over on the streets. We extended the life of one of the fur babies who became diabetic & blind by administering an insulin shot two times per day and checking his insulin level often. He lived another 4 years and was laid to rest at age 13. Another, the once feral one, passed away at age 12. One has been adopted by our daughter as a playmate for her other rescued dog, while our last sweet baby girl Jade, passed away on August 25th, 2023.

Mike and Lauri did an awesome job ensuring our pup felt comfortable and right at home. Can't say enough what a relief it is knowing you have experts watching and caring for him.

Our dogs love staying at Mike's house. They are well taken care of and loved.
We couldn’t be happier with the care Max received! This was the second time they watched him for three weeks, and once again they were absolutely wonderful. They treated Max like he was part of their family, and it gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. We received photos and updates every single day, which meant so much to us. It was clear from every picture that Max was happy, comfortable, and well loved. Knowing he was in such great hands allowed us to truly enjoy our trip without worrying. We would trust them with Max again in a heartbeat and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a caring, reliable, and attentive pet sitter. Thank you for taking such amazing care of our boy!

Mike and Lori are the best! Chewie is always happy and loved while he is with them ♥️

Mike’s house is like a second home for Bonnie! Mike and his wife go over and above to create a comfortable, happy atmosphere for Bonnie. She gets plenty of time outside daily going on walks and playing with the other dogs. After very careful screening and special meetup visits, Mike usually watches one or two other dogs while Bonnie is there, they all seem to thrive as playmates! Mike follows feeding & medication instructions perfectly. I love the daily pictures/contact we have with him when Bonnie is visiting!

As always, Mike is the best at taking care of my dog. She loves being there with him and he always ensures all the dogs get the safest and best care.
Calendar and availability
Schedule
As a retiree I have the time as well as the energy to walk daily and care for your dog as if they were our own. We chose to become a dog sitter and boarder to fulfill our love for dogs without the long-term, many year commitment of taking in a dog of our own full time. We have a large fenced backyard with access to open space & walking trails.

Home characteristics
Safety, trust & environment
We have experienced a great need for dog boarding care in this area. In response to this need we can accept families of three dogs with no other dogs present given enough notice. Any new single dog will need to get along with other dogs as we can not guarantee there will be no other dogs during your requested dates and the safety of your fur baby is a priority. We will book three dogs per day and occasionally may take a long time repeat dog if the family has an emergency or a last minute need. I like to do a meet & greet to make sure we are a good fit for your dog! We have extra doggie beds & crates if needed. Also have gates between the family room & kitchen during feeding time as well as closing off access to stairways to separate dogs & people if needed.
A typical day
Your fur baby will receive all the attention they need, including hugs & playtime. Or, if they prefer, the individual space required for them to feel safe & secure. Leave their bed and/or blanket with us to add to their comfort & their favorite toys for playtime. The morning begins in the large fenced backyard under supervision, then breakfast and back out again. Those that enjoy the game of fetch with a ball or Frisbee get their first round of exercise & fun as they anticipate their daily walk, weather permitting. Our home backs up to open space with many new smells & walking trails. All activity is tailored to the dogs energy level and existing daily routine.

- What is their overall health? Do they have any special needs? It is important we discuss your dogs temperament & personality. If left alone for short periods of time will they be ok with access to multiple rooms or do they feel safe & secure in their crate? Are they allowed on the furniture? Where do they sleep at night? How do they interact with other dogs as well as people? Do they enjoy playtime with other doggy playmates?
