I am a professional dog trainer with a passion for bringing out the best version of each dog that I work with. I strive to create a customized experience that fits the needs and personality of each dog in my care. I have experience with various breeds including high-energy and working dogs. My goal is to give each dog a safe and secure environment that will promote physical and mental health, confidence, and engagement through positive reinforcement and personalized activities unique to each dog.

My puppy Reef had so much fun with Mike and his dogs! Felt so bad leaving him since he’s only 4 months old but he had the best time and will definitely be using Mike again when needed. I can tell since Reef is back home that Mike kept up with his training and really appreciate that. Mike communicated often and sent some great pictures!

Schedule
I currently work as a dog trainer in the Mooresville area. I am able to return home throughout the day to let out dogs as needed. I am done with work around lunch every day, so that I am able to spend all afternoon interacting with dogs in my care.

Safety, trust & environment
My main concern is the safety of any pet in my care. I have extensive experience with providing a safe environment for various types of dogs. I prefer to kennel any dog that I am not actively supervising. However, I also have a puppy-proofed spare room for any dogs that are not crate trained. I am skilled at supervising dogs off-leash in a fenced-in area but I do not allow dogs to be off-leash while on walks or trips to any area that is not highly secure. My goal is to provide an environment that is healthy and very safe for any type of dog with any personality.

A typical day
I believe that my ability to offer a customized experience for any dog is what makes my services stand out from the rest. I have experience with a wide variety of dogs with particular needs and interests. I prefer to bring out the natural personality of each dog by allowing time for each dog to become familiar with me and their environment. Once I have established a relationship with the dog in my care, I like to try out various activities that are safe and stimulating for the particular dog that I am working with. Some examples may include playing tug, obedience and trick training, scent detection, fetch, and social interaction. I like to offer each dog the opportunity to express their personality through safe and healthy outlets. If a dog prefers activities that are not safe (ie. chasing cars) then I will channel that same energy and motivation into a different activity that is productive and safe.
