Ex Federal Police K-9 Trainer
Pet care experience
Welcome to Camp Clay - A Passion for Paws and Setting The New Standard of Obedience! Hello, I'm Mike, I’m an Army Veteran and dogs have been a cherished part of my life for over 15 years. We just recently moved to NW Cape Coral from New Jersey where we served 250+ clients, with roughly 100 being training clients. Currently, I share my days with two American Black Labrador Retrievers, but my journey with these amazing animals goes far beyond being a pet parent. My journey has taken me on an incredible path, where I spent nearly a decade as a certified professional Explosive Detection K-9 Handler/Trainer. In the high-pressure world of Federal Law Enforcement at the local/state and federal levels, I specialize in understanding body language, fostering obedience, correcting behavior and fine-tuning scent training. My credentials include certifications from the North American Police Work Dog Association (NAPWDA) and in dog First Aid/CPR. However, life had other plans for me, leading me to follow my dream career as a United States Deputy Marshal about 2 years ago. It was a profound shift, one that illuminated just how much I missed the presence of dogs in my life. In response, I made the decision to resign and embark on a new adventure: the birth of Camp Clay. At Camp Clay, we understand that every dog is unique, and our training methods are tailored to suit individual needs. Whether you're looking to enhance your pup’s skills, provide a safe and comfortable boarding experience or offer a fun-filled daycare environment, we've got you covered. Our home boasts a spacious, fully fenced yard, currently being enhanced with pet turf for endless playtime. I take immense pride in my professionalism, responsibility and dedication. My goal is simple: to bring joy to your furry companions and teach them the art of the "wiggle-butt dance." Moreover, I'm here to educate pet parents, sharing my knowledge to strengthen the bond between you and your four-legged family members. Our commitment to excellence, built upon a foundation of trust, safety and respect for your beloved dogs, is what sets us apart. Join us at Camp Clay and experience the difference that a decade of law enforcement K-9 handling expertise can make in your dog's life. Camp Clay is open seven days a week, including holidays, because your furry family members deserve nothing less. I look forward to partnering with you and your pups on this exciting journey of training, care, and adventure! Reviews

I am thrilled with my experience with Mike. My boy, Tucker, came home tired, but excited to be home. Great thing was the exposure to many other dogs. Tucker doesn't have a lot of social experiences, so this was probably sensory overload, but he loved it! I will definitely be taking Tucker back to Mike. I think it was a great experience for all!!!

Mike was amazing with our 2 dogs. He seemed super knowledgeable and kind. Our dogs came back to us nice and tired. He provided us great photos of the pups 1 night stay as well. We would 100% use Mike again!

It wasn’t easy finding somebody that we trust with our baby. We are grateful for the Rover app which led us to Mike! Our boy chunk was instantly one of the pack and he loved his visit and got plenty of exercise. Thank you, Mike!

Thanks so much for taking such good care of my girls Bonnie and Klyde! They were well taken care of during their extended stay. They came home happy and well fed. I would highly recommend!!!
