I have an apartment with a back yard where they will be able to run. At the client's home I will use the resources available to me rather they have a yard or not.
Information Mikayla W. would like to know about your pet
Before sitting a dog I'd like to know what their habits are. When they like to eat, what are the signs that they have to go potty, are they good around children and other animals (cats, dogs, specific breeds), are they picky about something. I want to know the dogs personality so I know what I am getting in to.
A typical day
Going on runs/walks, trails, dog parks, play fetch (if they don't know how I can try to teach them) I can also teach your dog to sit, shake or lay down while I am with them (only if the owner wants me to) Note I am not a certified trainer so no guarantees

Pet care experience
Mikayla | True North Pet Care Hi! I’m a U.S. Navy veteran ⚓️ and a current student working toward my Bachelor’s in Animal Health & Behavior. Caring for animals isn’t just something I do—it’s something I genuinely love. I have hands-on experience with a wide variety of animals including dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, chickens, fish, turtles, and birds. I’ve also volunteered with the Chesapeake Humane Society and the Peninsula SPCA, where I gained experience working with animals of all breeds, ages, and temperaments. I trained in Pet CPR and First Aid through the SPCA as well. At home, I have two dogs, Hercules and Sparks, as well as two cats, Bandit and Quidditch. Living with animals every day has taught me that each pet has their own unique personality, and I truly enjoy getting to know what makes them special. A few important things to know before booking: • I typically offer drop-in visits (morning, afternoon, and night) rather than overnight stays. Overnight care may be available depending on the situation—just ask! • My 7-year-old son often accompanies me on visits. He has grown up around animals and is gentle, respectful, and experienced. For this reason, I’m unable to accept bookings for pets that are not comfortable around children. I’m reliable, attentive, and treat every pet like family. You can feel confident knowing your pets will be safe, loved, and well cared for while you’re away ❤️

Reviews
Mikayla W. cancelled a booking 4 days before it was scheduled to begin.

Kind, considerate, responsive and kept my senior dog company (and also administered medication properly)! I appreciated the photos throughout the day. It gave me peace of mind knowing Mikayla was there for my girls while I was away.

Mikayla shared how Wallaby was doing. When I got home it was clear he wasn’t stressed out like he has been when I’m gone for extended times. That was such a relief! And knowing she takes care of dogs too I hope to be able to expand into having her back for that as well.

Mikayla was awesome! I felt very comfortable leaving Cooper with her.
