I booked Mikaela to care for my cat for approximately 10 days while I was out of the country. At drop-off, I provided detailed written and verbal instructions, including a strict pre-portioned daily feeding plan and care notes. During the stay, communication was inconsistent, and updates were limited unless I followed up (with the exception of one update). A few days into the booking, I was informed of a health concern. I clearly communicated multiple times that I preferred to take my cat to the vet myself when I returned, as I did not feel it was a medical emergency and did not authorize a vet visit during my trip. Despite this, my instructions were not followed as stated, and there were continued requests to reconsider that decision after I had already declined. This created a stressful situation while I was away and made communication difficult at times. Prior to pickup, I was informed that some supplies had been depleted earlier than expected, including pre-portioned daily food. Additionally, not all items provided were returned, and I was informed that my pet’s bed had been damaged. Due to these concerns and the lack of consistent communication, I chose to end the booking early and pick up my cat before the scheduled end date. Overall, I did not feel confident that care instructions were followed as provided, and I would not rebook. Based on my experience, I would recommend ensuring all care instructions and expectations are clearly confirmed in writing prior to booking.
