I currently work 3 days at Ithaca Bed and Biscuit as a dog/cat handler since November 2024. Additionally, having grown up with a dad as a veterinarian, I’ve been surrounded by animals my entire life, which has naturally made me adept at caring for them. Since the pandemic, I’ve also regularly volunteered at his clinic, gaining hands-on experience with animal care. In addition, I had dogs of my own growing up, so I understand the intricacies of canine behavior and well-being. As a dog sitter, I bring a wide range of skills to ensure that dogs are well cared for: Medical Awareness: With experience assisting at a veterinary clinic, I can identify early signs of health issues, ensuring dogs stay safe and healthy. Behavioral Understanding: I’m familiar with reading dog body language, helping me recognize stress, anxiety, or excitement, so I can adjust my approach accordingly. Exercise & Play: I provide engaging play sessions and daily walks tailored to each dog’s energy level and breed-specific needs, ensuring they stay fit and mentally stimulated. Training Reinforcement: I can reinforce basic training, like sit, stay, and leash walking, helping maintain good manners and discipline during your dog’s stay. Grooming & Hygiene: Regular brushing, nail trimming, and maintaining hygiene are part of my routine to ensure dogs are always comfortable. Emergency Preparedness: If any medical issues arise, my dad’s expertise is readily available to help with more complex tasks like administering injections, first aid, or CPR. I take pride in offering comprehensive care that makes sure every pet is comfortable, happy, and safe, giving pet owners complete peace of mind.

When caring for pets in your home, I aim to maintain their routine as closely as possible to ensure they feel comfortable and at ease. I can easily handle essential tasks like crating, feeding, and walking your dogs, making sure they stay on schedule. I prioritize and am trained in giving them the exercise and attention they need to stay happy and healthy. I’m also prepared for more specialized care, such as administering medications, ensuring dietary restrictions are followed, and monitoring for any signs of health issues. With my veterinary experience and working at a dog and cat boarding/dog daycare facility, I can handle basic medical care, and if anything more complex arises, my father, who is a vet, cab be available to assist. Whether it's following specific feeding instructions, giving medications, or providing extra care for elderly or special-needs pets, I ensure that every detail is carefully managed. I also respect your home, making sure that everything stays clean, organized, and exactly as you left it, so you can feel confident that both your pets and home are in good hands while you're away. I understand how important it is for pet owners to feel connected to their pets while they’re away, so I make it a priority to provide regular updates. I’ll send daily messages, photos, and even videos to keep you informed about how your pet is doing. Whether it’s a snapshot of your dog enjoying a walk in the park, or a quick video of them playing with their favorite toy, you’ll be able to see that they’re happy and well-cared-for. If your pet has any special needs, I’ll provide detailed updates on how those are being managed—whether it’s feeding, medications, or any other specific care. I’m also happy to chat with you over the phone or text if you have any questions or want more frequent updates. This way, you can have peace of mind knowing that your pet is in good hands and enjoying their time with me.

Mika is always going crazy for animals and loves them so much. I’ve seen her take great care of her animals at home and truly be a great dog parent.
Mika adores dogs and has two of her own. As well as having a friendly personality and patience, Mika is a good communicator who will keep her clients updated with messages and photos. She is passionate about every dog she meets and is caring and playful with each as if the dog is her own.
mia is a wonderful and caring person, i would personally be glad to let her take care of my pets. i would be safe to know my pets are in her hands, she’s kind caring and compassionate and always puts the animals first.

Schedule
Pet care fits perfectly into my daily routine. I work 3 days a week at Bed and Biscuit Ithaca as a pet care specialist. I’m available Wednesday-Saturday which allows me to provide consistent and attentive care throughout those days. I’m also flexible with my schedule, so if morning or night visits are needed, I can easily accommodate that. Since I have ample time, I can give your pets the attention they deserve, whether it's walks, playtime, or just being there to provide comfort and companionship. I ensure that pets feel secure and happy, and my open availability makes it easy to work around any special schedules or needs they might have.
