I am a stay at home mom so I am home to take care of the dogs full time. I sometimes have appointments or errands to run but I try to never be gone more than 4-5 hours consecutively.

We have a fenced yard but all dogs must be able to use wood stairs because to get to the fenced yard there are wood stairs either on the deck, or down to the basement to get out that way. So elderly dogs who have trouble with stairs may not be a great fit. My son is eight years old so the dogs must be good with children. My son also loves dogs very very much and likes to look in their eyes pretty intensely while cupping their face gently, rubbing their ears, and smelling their paws. So if that sounds like something your dog would not like please book somewhere else. We have had dogs lash out at our son before and it is essential that you be 100% confident your dog would never do that.

Information Micki K. would like to know about your pet
Let me know if your dog has any special needs ahead of time. Our dog had epilepsy, so we are familiar with giving pills and even suppositories. We are not able to take smaller dogs, anything less than 20 pounds at this time because our fence has some small holes in it that a small dog may be able to escape from. We also do not take puppies less than 1.5 years old or dogs that are not potty trained. We do not accept dogs that *dig in the yard* or chew shoes, etc. Also, our fence is made out of chicken wire in some places so if your dog is a digger or a Houdini, this may not be the best fit for them. Please let me know if your dog is a digger or a Houdini.
A typical day
We have a creek that is just a block away from our house. That was our pups favorite spot to walk to. We would love to take the dogs we are sitting down to the creek to play and chase sticks in the water (or in the grass if they are not water dogs). The creek is shallow. It would just come up to the pups ankles - so they don’t even need to know how to swim! Just how to have fun! We do like taking the dogs in the car with us a lot (so let us know if your dog gets car sick) for adventures to dog parks etc. Also, I am a Netflix and chill type lady with several chronic illnesses, so super high energy dogs may not find our house stimulating enough. Excellent fit for medium to low energy dogs. We do take at least one walk in the evening once my husband gets home, so if that is enough for your pup, that is enough for me :-)

*Note - only accepting lower energy dogs at the current time, as we have some medical problems in the family and need to save our energy for that. Also, we do accept larger dogs, but roughly 70lbs would be our maximum. We have a dog of our own who is 2 years old and low energy and would love to hang with some new friends who also like to Netflix and Chill! Must be potty trained with no accidents and no chewing furniture or shoes or children’s toys. Our son is very hands on with dogs and we have had a couple dogs we were babysitting lash out and almost bite him, so we only accept dogs that you are 100% confident that they would never do this. And these were dogs that lived with children too so we were very surprised when it happened. Just living with kids isn’t enough to say for sure they would never lash out. You know your dogs best, so please opt out if you think it’s a possibility your dog wouldn’t like all the touches from an 8 year old- He is a big time dog lover and cuddler! About Us: Now that our son is 8 we are ready to open our hearts and our homes to dogs again. We love dogs with a passion, and with our own pup passing away just recently, we are looking forward to lots of doggy kisses and cuddles again. I think it’s what Sam would have wanted! We recently adopted a very calm 2 year old dog named Toby. He loves other dogs but is very scared of new humans! He would love to have some doggy company!

The best experience I could have imagined. I was immediately relaxed after meeting Micki and her family. Communication was top-notch and I got sent the most beautiful pictures of my dog having the time of her life. In short, she maybe had a better vacation than I did. I was honestly concerned that she wouldn’t want to come back home with us-but luckily for us, she did. ?
Micki and her family took great care of my dog and treated him like family. She was so easy to work with when scheduling. She sent great pictures throughout the trip which helped my children feel so much better about leaving their dog for a few days. I will absolutely use Micki again in the future.
Micki and her family were amazing with our pup! Sent lots of pics and updates and Pepper really enjoyed the family time.
