**Please note** I only board one dog at a time (or two from the same home!) so your dog receives my full attention, a calm home environment, and truly one-on-one care. Because I keep my availability very limited, my rates reflect the personalised care each dog receives. Hello! My name is Mickayla, I’m a caring, responsible Australian who has had dogs and cats my entire life. I am the eldest of 4 children so I’ve always been responsible for my siblings and the animals. I moved to Carlow from Sydney 8 years ago with my partner and our Rottweiler who has sadly since passed. We have no children and desperately needed another dog in the house so not long after our Rottweiler passed we adopted an old German Shepherd from Dogs Trust who we just absolutely adored. Not long after he came to our home he hurt his back and he slowly deteriorated over 3 years. We moved our bedroom downstairs to be with him and got him a wheelchair - this seriously extended his time with us!! Recently, we had to make the heartbreaking decision to send him over the rainbow bridge 🌈 💔 I’m really not ready to get another dog of my own but I truly have so much love and care to give, this is a great way for me to express that ❤️

Mickayla is great, I couldn't have asked for a better dog sitter! She kept me updated with regular messages and videos, which gave me complete peace of mind knowing my two dogs were happy and well cared for. One of my dogs is paralysed and uses wheels, and she went above and beyond by working with him to get him up and moving. She was so patient, caring, and genuinely invested in his wellbeing. Both of my dogs were treated with so much love and attention, and I came home to two very happy pups. I would absolutely book with her again and highly recommend her! Thank you so much for taking such wonderful care of them!
Mickayla looked after our 14 year old jack Russell for 2 weeks while we were on holiday. She was really trustworthy, enthusiastic and an obvious animal lover. She had no problem giving him his medication and asked lots of questions to make sure he got the right care. She sent lovely photos and updates and put me at ease 😊 would highly recommend her for dog sitting and will use her again in the future

Mickayla is just such a natural, you can tell she loves animals and has such a passion for what she does. Pippa had the best time, she was so well taken care of, loads of affection, walks and play time. When we picked her up it was such a relief to see her so relaxed & content, no anxiety at all. It really was a home away from home for her. We got lots of updates and little videos which was great. Would highly recommend Mickayla

Schedule
I currently work a couple of days a week as a child minder in a private home (a nanny). The kids I look after are a lot older now and they don’t quite need me as many hours so I’ve taken a big step back, my position is very flexible. In this household I care for 3 dogs, 2 cats and a pony! I also volunteer for Kildare Wildlife Rescue as a wildlife carer and first responder. This is a very flexible roll and I can work around my dog sitting.

My home is a standard 3 bedroom build in an estate in Carlow town. I have a very secure garden but would never leave your dog out there unattended anyway - our old boy used to cuddle up on the sofa! Your dog has full run of our house, can even sleep in our bed if he/she likes! You’ll be updated constantly with photos of our adventures.
A typical day
I love nothing more than jumping in the car and going off on an adventure to find new smells! We can go for a hike up Mount Leinster, head into town and walk by the pond with the swans, or take a simple stroll through Oak Park. I am active on All Trails and have quite a few favourite trails within a 30 minute drive.
