🐾 Firefighter & Family Dog Lovers

Hi! We’re JD and Michelle, a husband and wife team who genuinely love dogs and treat every pup like part of the family. Between the two of us, we’ve spent more than 20 years caring for dogs both personally and professionally. We grew up around German Shepherds and Huskies and have experience with dogs of all ages, sizes, and personalities. JD is a firefighter with the Tucson Fire Department, which means his schedule includes many weekdays at home in addition to extended time off. When he’s working his 24 hour shifts, Michelle keeps everything running at home, so your dog always receives plenty of attention, exercise, and companionship. Our Family: We have a busy home with a wonderful two year old toddler and our newest little addition, so we intentionally keep boarding small and personal. To provide the safest and most relaxing experience for everyone, we typically host just one family’s dog at a time. We may consider multiple dogs if they’re from the same household or after getting to know them through previous stays. We ask that all dogs be fully house trained, friendly around young children, and complete a meet and greet before their first stay. If you’re unsure how your dog does around little ones or a new environment, we’re happy to schedule daycare first so everyone can get comfortable. Our Dog: Our 12 year old Siberian Husky has been an incredible companion and ambassador for visiting dogs. He’s calm, friendly, and gets along well with both people and other dogs. Over the years we’ve found his relaxed personality helps anxious or high energy dogs settle in much more quickly.

Reggie is always excited to stay with Michelle & JD. He enjoys the family, Nanook (their pooch) & other pooch visitors. When I return, he comes home relaxed, well taken care of and happy.

Yogi was well-cared for by JD and Michelle. She is our velcro dog so we were comforted knowing she could would be in the company of someone throughout her stay. They are dog people who treated her like one of the family.

Michelle and JD were great with our dog, Marvin. It was his first time being boarded and they made sure he was comfortable and a good fit for their household. They communicated well before and during the stay and Marvin seemed happy to be there. I would highly recommend them.

Schedule

We’re flexible with drop off and pickup times when arranged in advance. Because of JD’s firefighter schedule and Michelle’s availability, we can often accommodate early morning, evening, and weekday scheduling that many sitters can’t. We also offer pickup and drop off service for an additional fee.

Safety, trust & environment

We have a fully enclosed backyard for supervised play and are only a few minutes from a local dog park for owners who are comfortable with outings. Inside, dogs become part of our daily routine. Whether they’re relaxing with us in the house, playing outside, or joining us for walks, our goal is to make them feel safe, comfortable, and at home.

Pets

A typical day

Our days usually begin with a morning walk followed by breakfast. Throughout the day, dogs spend time both indoors with the family and outside in our secure backyard, with additional walks and playtime depending on their energy level. In the evenings, everyone settles in together, and we make sure each dog has their own comfortable place to relax and sleep.
