Ruff Landing Daycare and Boarding

Hi! I'm Michelle. I have over 34 years of experience in the field of veterinarian medicine, training and behavior modification. We offer overnight boarding as well as daycare for cats, dogs, and other pets. To prevent the spread of illness, we require that all pups be up to date on Rabies, Bordetella (kennel cough) and DHPP (parvo). In addition, cats should be current on Rabies and FeLv. Please send vaccine records to records@rufflanding (.com) We also ask that you provide your pets regular food, as sudden diet changes can upset their tummy. We have everything else they could possibly need! Our client service hours are: M-F 8-10AM & 3-6PM Sat & Sun 8-10AM We offer: Socialization, walks, friendly playmates, trips to the dog park if permitted, medication administration, constant potty breaks, photos and baths (upon request), and tons of affection! It's the next best thing to being home!

By far the WORST experience I’ve ever had using Rover. If I could give this 0 stars I would. Do NOT leave your pet with Michelle I cannot express enough how horrible this experience was. I have been using rover for years and have used It in many different states but this experience with Michelle has convinced me to never use It again. Upon booking with Michelle we ironed out the details. I was under the impression I would be working with Michelle since we had been communicating prior to drop off. Upon drop off a different person comes out to get coco, my dog. They told me Michelle had left and wouldn’t be back for a few hours. Apparently this was her personal staff who was communicating with me the whole time because when I expressed I was not comfortable leaving coco with anyone but Michelle, the person I thought I was talking to, Michelle calls me and says I’ve been talking with her staff the whole time. I had a flight to catch so I had very little option but to leave my fur baby with this stranger instead of Michelle. This staff member could not be bothered to look up and away from her social media while I told her Coco’s eating habits, play routine, special vitamins she needs, and general temperament. When I was finished detailing out Cocos requirements, the staff member told me to “toss her in the back”. Not once did she acknowledge coco, pet her, even look at her, which was a very discomforting feeling. The back area was screaming with dog barks and cries as if I had just walked into a pound. So now It was my understanding I would be leaving coco with this stranger, who would just toss her in a cage with the rest of the crying animals. Throughout cocos stay I asked for pics because I received NO communication regarding how she was doing. Michelle replied saying they will send me pictures in a few days when they consolidate all their other pictures from other animals. So I had to wait a few days to get a picture of my pet even though she was apparently “sitting right here next to me”. Upon pickup I went to get coco and as I entered Michelle herself shot me ugly looks and didn’t say anything to me. I asked her how coco was and she didn’t say a word she just scrolled on her phone refusing to acknowledge me. I asked for cocos belongings and she snapped at me and pointed to a small wal mart sack and said in the most annoyed disgusted voice “it’s right there?”. It was missing cocos toy, her water bowl, her blanket, and the original bag I brought It in. Michelle goes back to find the bag and hands It to me and sits back down. As I leave I hear her whisper under her breathe “so f*%#%^ rude”. I go back and ask “excuse me did you say I was rude?” Michelle does not look up at me and acts as if I don’t exist so I leave. On the drive home I can’t even drive with the windows up because now coco smells like a filthy dog kennel. I truly hope everyone considering boarding their fur baby with Michelle reads this review and decides against It. This has been a horrible experience and It made me ashamed to know I left my pet with such a horrible place and staff.

Pets

A typical day

We are very active during the day, so routine pick up and drop off times make planning our feedings, walks, enrichment activities, baths and house calls easiest. Typically 7-8am and 5-6pm work best. My dogs love the park, the tennis court, our pet friendly neighborhood, or even our securely fenced back yard where they have plenty of room for exercise. I rarely kennel a pet unless requested. We want them to be as comfortable in our home as they are in their own. They'll get tons of socialization, friendly playmates, and endless affection!
