Safety, trust & environment

Safety is always my highest priority, whether I'm caring for pets in your home or out on a walk. I make a point to stay aware of our surroundings, watching for potential hazards, changes in behavior, and anything that may cause a pet stress or discomfort. I pay close attention to body language and know that even subtle changes in posture, movement, appetite, energy, or demeanor can be important. I also understand that every pet has different routines, boundaries, and comfort levels. My goal is to respect those routines while creating an environment where they feel safe, relaxed, and cared for. I believe clear communication with pet parents is just as important, so I always keep owners updated and will never hesitate to reach out if something seems out of the ordinary. At the end of every visit, my hope is that your pet feels happier, more comfortable, and excited for the next time we spend together.

Information Michelle P. would like to know about your pet

Before we begin, I'd love to learn as much as I can about your pet! Every animal is unique, and the more I know, the better I can tailor my care to their needs. Some helpful things to know include: • Any medical conditions, allergies, medications, injuries, or mobility concerns. • Your pet's daily routine, including feeding schedule, exercise preferences, favorite toys, and any cues or commands they already know. • Whether they have any fears, anxieties, or triggers (such as loud noises, other animals, certain people, or unfamiliar situations) and what helps them feel most comfortable. • How they typically interact with other people and animals, including any history of reactivity or aggression that I should be aware of for everyone's safety. • Anything else that helps me understand your pet's personality, preferences, or routines so I can make our time together as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.

A typical day

Every pet is different, so I like to begin by learning their normal routine, favorite activities, and any preferences you have as their owner. Keeping their routine as familiar as possible helps pets feel more comfortable while you're away. Whether we're going for a walk, playing fetch, exploring the neighborhood, enjoying interactive toys, brushing, cuddling on the couch, or simply spending quiet time together, I tailor each visit to your pet's personality, energy level, and comfort. For overnight stays and drop-ins, I do my best to maintain feeding schedules, potty breaks, medications (if needed), playtime, and any routines that help your pet feel safe and relaxed. My goal is for your pet to feel like they're spending time with a trusted friend rather than waiting for you to come home.

Pet care experience

Hi! I'm Michelle, and I genuinely love getting to know each pet's unique personality. Whether your pup loves long walks, playing fetch, sniffing every tree on the block, or simply relaxing with company, my goal is for them to feel safe, happy, and excited every time we're together. I also believe pet parents deserve peace of mind, so I always strive to communicate clearly and keep owners updated while their pets are in my care. Experience with Dogs: I have spent the last six years walking dogs several days a week, working with dogs of all different breeds, sizes, personalities, and energy levels. I've become especially comfortable helping anxious or fearful dogs build confidence while keeping safety my top priority. I'm especially attentive to leash safety, reading body language, and adjusting each walk to the dog's comfort level to ensure they feel ready to explore outdoors. Senior Dog Care: I also have several years of experience caring for senior dogs with mobility issues, hearing and vision loss, allergies, and medication needs. This taught me patience, attention to detail, and the importance of adapting care to each dog's individual needs. Senior pets often communicate through subtle changes in behavior, and I pride myself on noticing shifts in their temperament, mobility, appetite, energy levels, comfort, or daily routines so I can respond with calm and appropriate care. Training & Enrichment: I enjoy keeping pets mentally engaged through positive reinforcement, interactive play, and enrichment activities that match their personality and energy level. Whether we're practicing simple cues, playing a favorite game, exploring something new, or simply enjoying quality one-on-one time, I love creating positive experiences that help pets feel happy, engaged, and confident. Every pet has their own personality, quirks, and routines, and getting to know those little things is honestly one of my favorite parts of this work. My goal is always to make your pet feel safe, loved, and excited to see me each time we meet.

Michelle has taken care of both our dogs when we leave for the last couple of years. She stays in our home so the dogs are not alone. One is an elderly dog with health issues and the other is a fairly young, very active dog. She not only is exceptional in the physical care of both pets (fed a special diet, walked and brushed) but makes sure that they are loved. She is very professional and trustworthy in all that she does. We highly recommend Michelle whether it be dog-walking, taking care of your pets in your home or out of your home. DK

I feel so lucky to have found Michelle to walk and care for our dog. She is without a doubt, the very best pet sitter out there. And “pet sitter” doesn’t begin to cover what Michelle has come to mean to us. She has taken him to the vet for us, let him inside the house when we were running late and it was getting dark. She makes sure he has cool water when they return. She helps train him. And will do a quick check in with him when I work later than expected. She is so compassionate, knowledgeable, reliable and trustworthy. I am at ease when my dog is with her. He comes home happy and tired! Michelle keeps me updated with his progress, texting me pictures of him rolling in the grass or minding his manners at a crosswalk. You can see the love she has for animals.
