Certified Fear Free Dog Vacation!

My husband Eric (who is a Rover sitter as well) and I are certified Fear Free Pet Sitters. We love dogs and will treat yours as our own "kids" while they are in our care. In fact, many families who trust us with their furry family members come back to wonder who really got the luxury vacation (....clearly the dog, of course...). If you are seeking drop-ins or dog walking, please visit my husband Eric's Rover profile (https://www.rover.com/sit/ericg16925). We currently have three dogs - Deogee, Luna, and Smokie. They love to play with their doggie friends! In addition, I grew up with large dogs - chow/retriever mix, 2 greyhounds, and a Lab/Great Dane mix- and also took care of my family friends' dogs when they needed daycare, boarding, or helping hand in training. I personally trained Denver, my lab/great Dane mix, and all three of our current dogs. The Fear Free Pet Sitter Certification Program is a course reviewed by the PSI (Pet Sitters International) and NAPPS (National Association of Professional Pet Sitters) that aims to equip pet sitters with a scientifically sound knowledge base in animal body language, dog walking, behavior and training basics, enrichment, home life, travel, administering medications, and more. We renew our certification every year, and also participate in professional development throughout the year to keep up our knowledge. The Fear Free Mission Statement is to prevent and alleviate fear, anxiety, and stress in pets by inspiring and educating the people who care for them. In our home, we take the Fear Free Mission Statement to heart. We do not use fear based equipment and aim to always minimize your pet's fear, anxiety, and stress (FAS).

Michelle is an amazing pet sitter! I’ve left my dog Juno with her multiple times, and she always takes great care of her. She sends photo updates, takes Juno on walks, and gives her lots of love. Highly recommend!

Moo always has the best time staying here. As soon as we start to get close she gets excited and comes home happy and sleepy from playing.

Michelle and her husband spent time with my dog during the initial evaluation to ensure it would be a good fit. They answered all my questions and I left confident my dog would be well taken care of. Michelle kept me informed throughout my dog's stay and the pictures confirmed just how happy and comfortable he was in his new environment.

Schedule

I am a freelance musician and music teacher in the public schools, so my availability is very flexible during weekends, summer, and holidays and my work hours are reasonable. We are avid runners and enjoy being outdoors, and will take any dogs who are boarding with us for daily exercise, in addition to spending time playing with them in our spacious backyard. Our daily routine revolves around our dogs. In the morning, we take the dogs outside, then go running. Then, we feed the dogs. We break up the work day by playing with the dogs. In the evening the dogs are fed, then get a walk and some playtime.

Safety, trust & environment

I have a fenced in yard at my home, and also gates in my home that allow me to control the environment and make it as safe as possible. Most of the time, the dogs are allowed to freely roam and play throughout my home, but if they need to take a break from the other dogs, we have the capability of giving dogs their own space.

Pets

A typical day

As a runner, I take the dogs out running with me in the morning. We usually go for an evening walk as well. Throughout the day, we play out in the yard and in the house with the multitude of dog toy options we have available (balls, frisbee, squeaky toys, pull toys, and even the doggie pool in summer!)

Spayed and neutered dogs only
No females in heat
Michelle can host up to 2 pets per night
While I do not have children of my own, there are children who come to my home frequently. I prefer dogs who are good around children.
