Pet care experience

Doggie day care extraordinaire!

Hello, my name is Michelle and I’ve been watching pets for 20+ years. My professional career has gained me lots of experience in many fields including veterinary/emergency medicine, animal training/behavior, boarding/daycare, and general husbandry. I mostly work with dogs and cats but have also had experience watching other small/exotic animals (hedgehogs, bearded dragons, leopard geckos, rats/mice, fish, etc) and farm animals (chickens, ducks, and horses). I am a transplant from Portland, OR, and while I do miss my clients, I’m ready to start something new here. 🙂 If you’re interested in me watching other animals not provided on this app - or would rather conduct business privately - feel free to contact me here and I will provide a further way to get in touch with me. ***I do not accept any request to watch an animal until AFTER a complimentary meet and greet to ensure we’re all comfortable with each other - so you may notice my response rate is lower than some other sitters***

Pets

Safety, trust & environment

The care I provide is extremely dependent per client/pet. I do have a special affinity for senior/anxious pets - but in general I let the pet guide our interactions. Once basic needs are met - I do whatever the pet enjoys. Is it nap time? We relax. Is it ball time? We play. Is it learning time? We train. I find that’s the best way to grow a positive relationship with the pet and the care I provide to them.

Michelle is my go-to. Great communicator and my super reserved dog gets excited to see her. What more could you want?

I have three rescue pups with drastically different personalities and needs, Michelle was wonderful with all of them. I came home from a weekend trip to three happy dogs and no accidents. She even worked around a painting crew I had scheduled to come to the house during my trip.

Dags and Louise had a great time with Michelle and her pup. I needed some extra help getting my dogs to and from Michelle’s place because of my travel schedule, so she picked them up AND dropped them off. On top of that, Michelle is just a nice person you can trust with your fur babies. I would recommend her to any dog owner (and I learned she has experience with many other species, too).

Michelle was very attentive to what needed to be done with my dog and in the house. She did send me regular updates on the dog since i was a bit anxious as I had not left her since adopting her which I very much appreciated. My dog seems to have been well taken care of and I have no complaints.

I can't say a single bad thing about Michelle. She did a great job taking care of my pup this past week! Michelle was timely, kind, and provided great updates. You can tell she has a connection with animals. I will be asking for her help again in the future.

Schedule

Pet care has been a part of my life since I was young and my family got our first cat, Smokey. Since then it has evolved into a career I enjoy and a life with my own pets as an adult.

Cats
0 to 15 lbs
16 to 40 lbs
41 to 100 lbs
over 101 lbs
Michelle can host up to 1 pet per night
Anxieties, triggers, quirks, and health problems, and favorite things to do - I know anxious and senior pets can also have some interesting schedules. Haha Most everything else I have covered.
