WFH Dog Mom, 5 mi. from DTW ♥️
I work from home in Wayne, MI - less than 10 mins from DTW. I’m more than happy to do pick-ups & drop-offs if needed! I share a roomy 1400 sq ft home with my 7 year old Sheltie mix, Iko. I have a large, gated backyard, completely enclosed with an 8 ft. privacy fence. Dogs have free reign of my home and are welcome on all furniture unless you'd prefer otherwise. My flexible work arrangement means that I can be super attentive to your dog, and make sure that plenty of walks and playing happen throughout the day. A little about me: I was raised out in the country here in Michigan with dogs, who were always part a treasured part of our family. We had anywhere from 2-4 dogs in our home at any given point when I was growing up. We raised and trained all of our dogs from puppyhood. One of our happiest and most chaotic times was when we took in a pregnant rescue dog - a Great Pyrenees mix. We delivered and fostered her puppies until they were ready for new homes. They looked like little bears and I still miss them! Once I moved out on my own, I continued the tradition...but with just one dog at a time! I've loved and lost a 4 lbs. Chihuahua, Mira, who made it to age 12 despite a heart condition. I now have a 7-year-old Sheltie/Pomeranian mix named Iko who is absolutely my heart and my baby. I love and am fascinated by dogs, and it's hard to imagine "home" without one. They've been our loyal companions and have worked alongside the human race for thousands of years. There's a purpose for each breed; each dog has unique needs and behaviors. This curiosity and knowledge helps me be more attentive to and compassionate with each dog I care for. If you book with me, I can help maintain consistency with most training or behavior modification routines you have going with your dog. I'm very active, and can ensure that your dog gets lots of playing and walks in every day. I also would love to take your dog for car rides (if they're not stressed by it and behave well in the car!), since that checks off so many enrichment boxes for dogs. Iko loves to come along with me when I hit the road! I can welcome dogs of all sizes - one of my pastimes is weight training!

Michelle is so good with our anxious dog! We knew that our dog wouldn't be comfortable with just anyone, so when looking through reviews, we felt like Michelle would be great, and she is!! Our dog has a great time with her and it relieves our anxiety knowing that our pup is being taken good care of. She sends lots of pictures and updates and it's wonderful!
Michelle is the BEST! Communication and photos allowed us to be so at ease while vacationing. She loved him like he was her own, and her own fur baby was an excellent host! Would recommend her in a heartbeat!
Michelle took such good care of our sweet baby!!! My dog is so anxious constantly so I get really nervous to leave her with anyone, but I got pictures from Michelle as well as updates on my dog throughout the day, which relieved a lot of worries. She was so great with my anxious doggy! I appreciated her so much!
Michelle is absolutely amazing! My husky enjoys his visits with her. She provides me with constant updates and pictures. Michelle goes above and beyond as a sitter she make ease the anxiety and fear that a lot of pet parents have when boarding. Michelle ensures my dog sticks to his schedule, makes him tired when it comes to play time and gives him the cuddles he needs when I’m gone. 110% recommend her for any services you may need.
We highly recommend choosing Michelle! Our dog Bear stayed with Michelle for a second time. We love how she sends us so many photos and videos of him! We can tell by his body language in the videos that he feels right at home with her, and he loves playing with her dog Iko! We will continue to be repeat customers.
Michelle was great taking care of my Huskey. She sent us time to time updates with photos and videos. By boy had good time in her house.

Schedule
I work 100% from home! This gives me incredible availability and flexibility. I do have to be on my laptop roughly from 9am-5pm, but have a flexible schedule to take breaks, adjust my working hours, etc. I have few commitments during the evenings and weekends, and with enough notice can usually be available during those times.

I have a gated and padlocked backyard, which is fully enclosed with an 8ft. tall privacy fence. I do have a 7-year-old neutered male Sheltie/Pomeranian mix named Iko. He's very chill and mainly disinterested in other dogs - sometimes, he does want to try to play! He can get jealous over his momma and his toys, so I keep a close eye on him and take measures to prevent him being defensive. Iko sleeps on the bed with me, and your dog is welcome to as well - or the couch, the chaise, etc.! I'm happy to crate your dog, but only if they consider their crate to be a safe place and are crate-trained.

A typical day
We’ll play games in my yard - we have so many toys here! We also have a puzzle, with treats as the reward for solving it. My neighborhood has lots of dogs, so there's lots to smell on walks. I also like to give car rides to our local hiking trails - but only if your dog likes car rides. We can also work on training, new or established tricks, or just cuddle up!

- Please let me know ahead of time if your dog has separation anxiety and behaviors (chewing shoes, etc.), and if they need to be crated or can be left out when I run errands. Iko will always be put in a room when I’m not home, for his safety and your dog’s!. Please let me know your dog prefers to sleep in bed with you, on their own bed, or in a crate. Of course, if your dog has any behavioral peculiarities, special dietary or medical needs, etc., I would need to know ahead of time.
