About Michele H.
Communication
Dog skills
Safety, trust & environment
As a long time pet owner and shelter volunteer, I understand animal behavior and body language. My goal is to become a trusted friend to your fur baby who gets excited to see me walk in the door.
Information Michele H. would like to know about your pet
I would like to know temperament (high/low anxiety, food guarding, toy guarding, aggression towards strangers or other animals, energy level), allergies, and other health concerns. I'd also like to know about past medical history and if your dog has had or has been exposed to any communicable canine diseases.
A typical day
I want to make sure your pet is as comfortable and happy as possible while you are away. I understand the toll separation anxiety can take on both pet and owner. Maybe this means leaving the tv or lights on before I leave after a good walk, a meal, some fresh water, and lots of belly rubs. Spending time outside in Minnesota whenever possible is very important to me, and I will make sure your pooch gets lots of fresh air when I come over (if that’s what they like)!

Pet care experience
Now serving the Shakopee area! The inception of my pet sitting business involved 13 year old me circa 2008 going door to door with handmade flyers offering pet and house sitting services in my neighborhood. Fast forward through 4 years of high school and 4 years of college, I once again found myself at a place in life where I could spend more free time with what I love most - animals. I graduated from the University of Minnesota in 2016 and have been a Rover sitter ever since! I’ve cared for almost any domestic pet you can think of, all in various stages of life. From blind senior dogs to 4 week old kittens, chronically ill cats, rabbits on oral antibiotics, rats, guinea pigs, even snakes…if you’ve got it, I can watch it. Understanding how animals communicate has helped me create a special bond with them from a young age. I have worked with cats and dogs of all ages and currently live with my bunny (Poe), my guinea pig (Lenny), my cat (Thomas), 2 fish, and my dog, Clifford. I specialize in dog and exotic animal care. I have cared for many elderly animals and animals with health conditions. My boy Clifford is on daily oral seizure medication and I've given oral medication to numerous rodents and rabbits. I have worked with dogs with behavioral conditions in a shelter setting for 6 years.
Reviews
Michele is amazing! She took care of my two cats for 2 weeks time frame and did an excellent job! You can tell she truly cares for animals rather than just doing it for the money. My cats warmed up to her and she sent detailed pictures after every visit, and responded promptly to any text messages. I am definitely booking her again when we travel. If you want someone to look after your pets just like you are and not worry about them, Michele is your person.

Excellent!

Michele was super kind to offer to meet us prior to Moose's walks. She helped my mom out while I was out of town with exercising my pup. She has a lot of experience and excellent ratings. I would like to rate as 5, however, I think this week may have been off for her with work changes, etc. There were a couple reschedules and running late, but she followed through on the number of walks, etc. I'm grateful she was able to help walk Mr. Moose.

Michele is fantastic! She was so thorough during each visit and worked hard to get my cat’s trust. I will definitely use her again, and will recommend her to others. She is great!
