We couldn’t be happier with our experience with Michaela as a dog sitter! She was absolutely amazing with our puppy, Willy, and went above and beyond to make sure he felt comfortable and cared for. Michaela kept us updated the whole time with pictures and videos, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. Her own dog was incredibly patient and gentle with Willy, which made the experience even better. You can tell Michaela truly loves what she does and treats the dogs in her care like family. I would 100% recommend her to anyone in Santa Cruz looking for a trustworthy, attentive, and caring dog sitter.
Michaela totally put my mind at ease for my frightened dog, answering my questions and asking great ones to make sure it was a successful visit. Her dog is very well trained and helped her feel comfortable. She ended up having the best time and I had a hard time getting her in the car!
Prior to meeting Michaela, she was very communicative about Penny’s visit and what she may need/want throughout the day. Michaela was a wonderful sitter for Penny the pitbull! She took her on walks and played her favorite games with her (fetch and tug). She also fed her dinner for us. After an almost 10 hour day with Michaela, she slept the whole car ride home. Michaela did an awesome job of sending us multiple updates and photos of Penny having the time of her life. I highly recommend this sitter and will use her again if we are ever in the area. I got my puppy in 2019 and knew I'd need a sitter every now and then, Michaela has been absolutely perfect as his designated trainer, walker, and best friend for the past 6 years. Her love of animals makes her the best fit for this job and I trust her to the point that's she's my pup's god-mother. If you want your baby to be trained, played with, walked, or just loved on and taken care of; book Michaela - she will not disappoint!

Schedule
Pet care is a big part of my everyday life. I currently work part-time as a kennel technician, so I’m already caring for animals daily feeding, cleaning, monitoring health, administering meds, and making sure they feel safe and comfortable. Outside of that, I make time each week for pet sitting and drop-in visits. My schedule fluctuates so I always try to work my schedule around yours!

Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or yours, I always focus on creating a safe, calm, and loving environment that feels familiar and stress-free for them. In clients' homes, I stick closely to your pet’s routine regarding feeding schedules, walks, playtime, medication, and any house rules you’ve set. I make sure they feel comfortable in their own space while keeping you updated with photos and messages. When pets stay with me, they get a clean, pet-friendly space with plenty of attention, enrichment, and quiet time to relax. I limit the number of animals I care for at once to make sure each one gets the time and care they deserve. Your pet's comfort and safety always come first, no matter where they are.

A typical day includes playtime, socialization (if okayed), walks, cuddle breaks, enrichment games, and rest. Dogs enjoy safe, supervised fun, making friends and staying active!
