I am currently working fully remotely in a freelance role, so my schedule is very flexible during many days and evenings. To take a break from the office/computer screen and boost my mood and energy, I love going on runs, walks, and relaxing in the yard or local parks. All that's missing is a furry companion to accompany me, and I would love to have the opportunity to walk and care for your dog at the same time!

In terms of my overall approach to pet care, the saying "it takes a village to raise a child" has always resonated with me, and I believe this principle extends to pets as well. In addition to their owners and families, pets can benefit from having a wider circle of trusted people in their lives who can give them love, care, attention, and happiness. I am inspired by the way street cats and dogs are treated in places like Istanbul, where they are looked after medically, cared for by the local community, and treated like familiar neighborhood friends. I would love to be part of that "village" for your pet, whether that means a walk, a check-in, an overnight stay, or something else!

A typical day
I always tailor my activities to each pet’s personality and preferences, because just like each person, every animal has its own likes and dislikes. I lead a pretty active lifestyle, so I’d be happy to take your dog on walks, play fetch or other games, run around in the yard, go for a jog, or visit a dog park if that’s something they enjoy. At the same time, I’m just as happy to keep things relaxed and provide companionship and attention, whether that means spending time with them at home or simply stopping by for a check-in. Ultimately, I want every pet to feel safe, comfortable, and loved, so my priority is to give them the full attention and care they deserve during our time together.

Pet care experience
I have always had a natural affinity for pets, and my recent experiences volunteering at local animal shelters (Hamilton County, IndyHumane) have deepened my love even more, particularly for shelter cats and dogs (I am considering fostering a shelter dog in the near future). As a result of this work, I have developed a soft spot for pets who may need an extra bit of gentleness, patience, and time to feel comfortable and safe, and I find it incredibly rewarding when I can earn their full trust and affection. I have provided many friends and family over the years with dogsitting, catsitting, and basic training.

Michael is a trusted friend and disciplined pet caretaker. My dog Poppy is very nervous around new people, but through an astute regimen of gentle patience, training treats, and extra walks, Michael has won her heart. He gives great updates and obsesses over getting every detail just right.
Michael is absolutely incredible! He was kind, communicative, and punctual. He followed all my litter and cat food instructions too. I received regular updates and photos, which gave me complete peace of mind. My pet was happy and well-cared for. I really couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend Michael!
