Availability
I currently have 4 cats that I care for on a daily basis. That number can fluctuate because I periodically take in cats that I foster for at least a month.

Information Michael T. would like to know about your pet
I believe in providing animals with stimulation and exercise. All i need to know is if there are certain things that you would not like your animal to participate in. For example going for a run because of something like a bad hip. Or exploring the neighborhood because they arent friendly with other animals.
A typical day
There are many things I would enjoy doing with your pet. Including going for a walk/run, going to the park/beach, playing with toys, or fetch in the backyard. Whatever activities you are comfortable with, Id be happy to do with your pet.

Pet care experience
Animals have always held a special place in my heart, and I have been caring for them since I was a child. Our family had a lot of pets while I was growing up, and we always took in animals that needed help. Including baby squirells, a crow, a turtle that got hit by a car, as well as cats and dogs. This has translated into me being a life long pet owner, and rescuer of animals. I live in an area that has a large feral cat population, and I have taken it upon myself to help alleviate this problem. I have trapped, over 20 feral cats in the past 10 years. Once captured, I get them spayed/neutered, vaccinated, as well as have any of their medical needs taken care of. I keep each cat for at least a month to see if they are adoption eligible, and if they are, I foster them until I find a good home for them. If not, I get their ear clipped, and I release them. Unfortunately, this is costly but Ive been able to "afford" it until this past year when I had some costly vet bills. Including the last cat I rescued (Buddy) who was involved in a fight with another feral cat, got his tail bitten, and it cost me over $3000 to get his tail amputated. It was also a long, and difficult recovery process requiring many hours of care and attention. Luckily Buddy came through and is the sweetest little guy. I found a home for him at a group home, and he is now living his best life. I would like to continue to provide this service but I can not afford too many more instances like buddy, or ill be the homeless one out wandering the streets in need of rescuing. So, I have been contemplating ways in which to earn some extra money to help pay the bills. Once I discovered Rover it became obvious that this is the perfect solution. I can earn money to help pay for my feral cat project, spend even more time with animals, and provide a valuable service where I have a lot of experience. I have experience with cats and dogs of all ages and temperments. I have trained many dogs, including those of family and friends. All money earned from Rover will go directly towards helping animals (mostly cats) who are in need in my community.

Reviews
I can say with absolute certainty that Michael is the best pet caregiver I have ever met. He rescues cats, is great with dogs and other pets, and is an ethical and responsible person that anyone could trust to care for their loved or be in their home. I would definitely recommend him.
I have known Michael for over 30 years, and if you know Mike you know loves animals. I recall when he, my son, and I went camping & Mike laid down among the trees in the forest, put some peanuts on his chest, and waited for squirrels and chipmunks to visit him. He was much younger then, but it's an example of how much he loves all animals. We were in a park once, and there were peacocks--he got down on his haunches and patiently waited for them to come over to see what he was up to. He's the kind of guy who takes in homeless cats & gets them to the vet for their immunizations and spay/neuter. He is a caring, good guy all round and I would not hesitate to have him take care of anything or anyone I love and care about.
Mike has cared for my pets many times over the years. We call him Dr. Dolittle because animals are drawn to him--he has come to my house and, within minutes, you see 2 dogs on his lap and a cat up on his shoulder. His own pets are truly fortunate, they are loved and pampered--he loves to play with them and they receive the best attentive care, including their health needs. One of his dogs had a catastrophic accident a few years ago, and the vet said a leg had to be amputated. Mike absolutely refused, and he nursed that dog back to health, including taking him to the vet every other day to have his dressings changed--he saved the dog's leg. Mike loves animals, and animals love him! You really could not leave your pets in better hands.
