West End dog walker, terrier-tested
In my twenties I raised a spirited Parson's terrier with my brother/roommate. The little guy was beloved, clever, and sometimes a real handful -- so I'm comfortable with dogs that have opinions and energy to burn. I later lived with my husband's cat through her elder years, so gentle and senior care isn't new to me either. We don't have pets right now, but I've kept a weekly routine of walking and minding friends' and neighbours' dogs and cats, and I want more of it! I work from home, so a midday walk is a genuine pleasure for me (a chance to step away from the screen and be outdoors!) and not a chore I'm rushing through.

I care for dogs in your home and your neighbourhood, not mine, so your dog stays on familiar ground with their own routine intact. Before the first walk I'll want a quick meet-and-greet to learn your dog's habits — leash manners, recall, reactivity, what they love and what they'd rather avoid — and how you handle keys, feeding, or any meds. On walks your dog stays leashed and under control, I always clean up, and I'll send you a note after each visit so you know exactly how it went. If your dog enjoys an off-leash area, I'm happy to head somewhere that allows it — only where it's permitted and only if they've got reliable recall. Having co-owned a spirited terrier, I'm comfortable with dogs who pull, react, or have strong opinions.

Schedule
I work from home in the West End, so pet care fits naturally into my day. A midday or afternoon walk is how I step away from the screen and get outdoors, which means your dog gets someone genuinely glad to be there. I'm flexible on weekday timing and can hold a steady recurring slot, which is ideal if your dog does best on a predictable routine. Weekends work too. Because I'm local and not commuting between jobs across town, I can be reliable about showing up when I say I will.
