Safety, trust & environment

When dog walking, I give a 30-minute walk, often provide a meal, and spend some additional time for play and petting, and I always provide fresh water. Multi-day petsits include lots of walking, playtime, petting, feeding, and sometimes even a car ride to a park or trail—and if your pet agrees, lots of cuddling. I am an experienced dog and cat pill and medication giver and I'm an expert in canine teeth brushing! I always enjoy it when animals share my bed at night. As part of my stay, I water the plants, fill the bird feeders, collect the mail, and take out the garbage—and, of course, clean the cat litter box.

Information Michael S. would like to know about your pet

It’s important for me to know If your dog or cat has any special medical or behavioral issues, and if there are medication needs. I want your pets to feel comfortable with me, so I want to stick to the familiar walking and feeding schedules that you have established. Do you give your pet treats or human food? I want to know. Typically, I don’t approach other dogs while I’m outside with yours.

A typical day

We do a lot of walking and playing and some positive training with treats when we’re outside. Petting and a good cuddle are always part of the day. Depending on the dog or cat and your feeding routine, I will cook for pets like I did for my own.

If you’re looking for reliable, experienced, and compassionate care for your pets and home while you’re away, look no further. With a lifetime of experience caring for dogs and cats, I've grown to understand their needs and behaviors, and to support their well-being. I have been entrusted with the care of friends’ and family pets for years, ensuring they feel safe, comfortable, and loved in their owner's absence. Whether it’s daily walks, playtime, or administering oral medications and injections, I handle each task with utmost care and professionalism—and I'm trained in cat and dog CPR, giving you peace of mind that your beloved pets are in capable hands. Beyond pet care, I offer experienced, trustworthy house-sitting services to maintain the security and smooth operation of your home—while making sure everything runs seamlessly when you're away. From collecting mail and watering plants to keeping your home secure, I take care of of it with respect. When you hire me, you’re not just getting a pet sitter—you’re gaining a dependable, responsible caretaker who treats your pets and home as if they were my own. I recently lost my beloved pit bull so I want to spend some quality time with your dogs and cats. Nothing gives me more pleasure than hanging out with our 4-legged friends.

Michael took great care of our house and our cat and dog while we were away. He managed their medicine, walked our dog more than we do, and gave them both tons of pets and affection. We really enjoyed our time away knowing that they were in such good hands.

Michael took excellent care of our home, garden, and our smart/high energy dog for an extended vacation. He was very receptive to our dog's energy level, diet, routine, house rules, a list of verbal and hand commands, and made sure to sprinkle in enrichment activities and cuddle time to prevent boredom or mischief. We received daily updates, photos, and even a few videos of our boy relaxing and having fun. Our house was impeccably tidy when we returned. I would love for Michael to be our sitter again in the future.

Michael watched our Eva while we were visiting friends in LAX and he took the best care of her, and went above and beyond being flexible with our schedule. She definitely gets a bit of separation anxiety, but she took to him right away. We will not hesitate to reach back out the next time we are in the area. Communication was top notch. Thank you, Michael!!
