We got our family dog when I was 11 years old. He was a Welsh Springer Spaniel named Gusty. My sister and I were really involved in his upbringing, his training, his walking, and all aspects of his life. Our parents expected us to be very involved in looking after him. He was a huge part of our lives. I loved looking after him when he was a puppy and also watching him grow up when he became an old guy. Even when away from home during college, I still looked to have dogs in my life. One of my college roommates had a dog that I would look after when he was away for weekends. She is an Australian Shepard. He once told me he would ask me to watch her because I never forgot her schedule. I am very diligent with feed and walk times, and always make sure the dogs I am with get lots of attention, which is very important when their owners are away. With my own dog, I had experience ranging from the everyday walks and weekend caretaking to visits to the vet and bathing. I would love the opportunity to look after your dog and help him or her feel comfortable with me looking after him for a walk, a day or several days.
