Availability

We are conveniently located close to the Oak Grove Orange Line and only 20-30 minutes from Logan airport. We have no other pets, so your dog is never competing for love or space. I am home full-time, which means someone is almost always here - taking dogs out frequently, working at the picnic table while they stalk squirrels, or just hanging out together. We're homebodies by nature, and our house is set up for it: comfy furniture, more dog toys than we need, and plenty of family members ready to give your pup attention whenever they want it.

Information Michael P. would like to know about your pet

It will be important for me to know about your dog's dietary and medical needs and what their general preferences and behaviors are on a daily basis. We will do our best to make their lives run routinely.

A typical day

When it comes to your dog's needs, I take my lead from you and your dog. If the dog requires multiple short walks per day or one or two long ones, I can accommodate. I am flexible and live in a very walkable neighborhood.

Pet care experience

When your pup stays with me, I treat them like family. You will receive regular written updates, photos, and videos throughout their visit. I'm committed to open, consistent communication so you always know your dog is safe, happy, and well cared for. My background: I grew up with dogs and have spent a lifetime learning how to care for pups of all ages, sizes, and medical needs. My wife and our 7th grade daughter share that same love - we regularly pet sit for friends and volunteer as foster caregivers for local rescue agencies. We've hosted most breeds -Doodles, German Shepherds, Border Collies, Frenchies, Labs, Pit Bulls, Chihuahuas, Yorkies, and more...and every wonderful type of mutt in between. We love mutts! Our own beautiful mutt Otto passed away a few years ago, and while we don’t have plans to adopt anytime soon, our home is setup for a dog and we genuinely love having dog energy in the house.

Michael and his family were great! He provided updates all throughout the day. He really got to truly understand Ziggy, his needs, his quirks in such a short amount of time. He also followed his schedule to a tee! I felt super comfortable with him watching Ziggy and would definitely recommend.

Michael is such an amazing dog sitter! Frankie was in heaven on his vacation with Michael and his family because he was able to play fetch essentially the entire time! I got plenty of updates and Frankie was comfortable and made to feel right at home. Frankie is also dog reactive and has special walking/care needs because of that. Michael was super accommodating and understanding of this. I highly recommend Michael!

We left our 80-lb golden doodle Leo with Michael for an extended weekend. It was clear from our initial meet-and-greet a few weeks prior that Michael is very knowledgeable about dogs and cares a great deal for them as well. When it came to the time to leave Leo with someone else overnight for the very first time, we were very assured that he was in good hands. Michael communicates extraordinarily well. He took the time to find out Leo’s routines, feeding schedule, and his do’s and don’ts. He also shared some of his own philosophy about dog care. One example is that Michael will generally lead your dog away from other dogs while they are out and about to avoid any kind of negative interaction or possible danger. Leo has a host of medical issues. Michael was interested in learning about it and easily adapted to caring for him properly. If there was something Michael did not know or wanted clarification, he would text us to find out rather than guess. Michael was also very proactive in giving us updates on how Leo was doing with pictures and videos. It was clear that Leo was comfortable and adapting a little too well. We were worried that Leo might not want to come home! Michael’s updates were also entertaining and had us rolling. Michael’s home is well suited for dogs of all types. He has a yard large enough for Leo to run around in. He also had boat loads of supplies, from crates and beds to harnesses and leads to toys and treats. Michael even had special treats which helped make administering Leo’s medications a snap. Overall, we were super happy with Leo’s experience with Michael. If we could, we would give Michael a Rover rating of 6 stars out of 5! We will definitely reach out to him again for our puppysitting needs.
