Having the summers off, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to dedicate time throughout the week to pet care. Daily walks and outdoor activity have long been part of my routine from caring for my previous dog, Belle, a pit bull who thrived on consistency and regular exercise. Pet care fits naturally into my schedule, and I enjoy providing pets with the attention, companionship, and activity they need while their owners are away.

About Michael N.
Safety, trust & environment
I have the flexibility to provide attentive care and spend quality time with pets throughout the day. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I make an effort to learn their preferences, favorite activities, and household rules so they feel comfortable while their owners are away. My dog Belle, a pit bull, was very much a member of the family, so I understand how important it is to treat pets with the same level of care and respect. I’m also firmly in the “dogs belong on furniture” camp, so I understand that pets are family members and should be treated with love, respect, and affection. I’m happy to provide plenty of affection, playtime, and companionship along with meeting their daily needs.
Information Michael N. would like to know about your pet
Let me know if your dog is reactive to other dogs. Do they prefer to play with other dogs? Or are they a dog who prefers my individual attention. How well do they do with traveling in vehicles? Will they return when given a command? If so, what command do you use? If I am house sitting, what type of diet is your dog on? How often do they eat a day? Are they food reactive? Anything other questions I may have I will ask when we meet.
A typical day
I believe in allowing your dog to take the time to explore their world first by sniffing and marking everything they desire for the first part of our walks. Depending on your dog’s temperament and recall, I allow your dog to run around off leash near open fields by my home. I play fetch and tug-o-war, as well as rough play if your dog enjoys that type of play. I will match your dog’s energy. Once they have had the opportunity to explore, I walk them on leash to work on walking etiquettes such as walking a straight line, proper pacing, and waiting.

Pet care experience
As a special education teacher, I bring patience, consistency, and strong communication skills to every pet I care for. I previously owned a pit bull named Belle who had social anxiety around other dogs, which taught me how to recognize stress signals, manage walks safely, and adapt to a dog’s individual needs. I’m comfortable working with dogs that require extra patience, structure, or a calm approach, and I prioritize safety, reliability, and positive experiences for both pets and their owners.
